Madrid Family Hotel — Hotel in Sofia City

We've stayed at this hotel a few times, and, it's a great little hotel. We first stayed here while I was having an operation at the small hospital opposite, I could actually wave to my family from my hospital bed. The second time we were taking a family member for a consultation at another of Sofias hospitals. ||||We've always booked apartment 51. It's a large apartment on the fifth floor. It has two spacious bedrooms, a lounge/dining area, a shower/toilet room and a balcony. It's always been immaculate and the staff are always very friendly! Despite being in the city it's very quiet and comfortable so you get a good nights sleep!||||The other handy thing about this hotel is it's on the edge of the city, it's within walking distance of shops and the huge mall, but, if you're not a fan of driving in the city it's easy to get to as it's on the straight road into Sofia so you don't have to battle crazy drivers. ||||If you're staying for business or simply want to explore Sofia this is a great base to do it from.||||My only tiny tiny criticism is, there are no tea and coffee facilities in the room. Food and coffee is limited to the vending machines in reception, though the vending machine coffees are pretty good by vending machine standards.||||Overall it's great value at 110leva for an apartment per night. We stayed here for one night a few days ago before we had to catch our very early morning flight back to the US. It was immaculately clean and the family suite on the top floor was perfect for the 5 of us (3 kids). The rooms are spacious and plain. The shower had pressure and hot water. There is a small fridge, a dinette, and a sofa bed which we used. The elevator is a treat and we found parking to be easy on the street. The reception is kind and open 24 hours which really was a bonus after staying in so many apartment rentals. Quiet safe feeling...

It is a small ish hotel, the room was clean although on the smaller side. It did the job of one night stopover before our very early flight the next day.|The hotel is very close to Sofia airport - a huge advantage for us.|A word of advice: book your taxi in advance - the night before - for extra piece of mind.|The hotel does not offer meals, which was not an issue for us anyway. |A disadvantage is no 24 hr reception staff. Reception is staffed 8am-8pm (or 7pm).|Also, no fridge in the room, we did not like that. The tv is...
