Review in progress (update 3):
Summary: excellent food, sublime service, perfect location, well-groomed amenities and outside areas, average studios and an subsize fitness area.
We've booked two studios for 2 adults and 1 child each at half board.
The rooms themselves are what we've come to expect from high-density resorts: fairly small but clean and serviceable. Both had a bed, a small cooking top, a fridge, a good air conditioner and a fairly outdated TV. The overall material quality is average.
We changed one of the rooms due to dampness and the one we received was a bit better with a larger fridge, a bigger more modern TV, and both a stove and a ceramic cooking top.
The location is excellent, just a brief walk to a lovely beach and only a few kilometres from a perfectly stocked supermarket (LIDL). The beautiful town of Sozopol is only a short drive away.
The facilities are meticulously-maintained. The landscaping is beautiful. The pools are clean. There is a multitude of activities for the little ones with playgrounds but also chaperoned events like a kids disco with animators.
The food is GREAT! The variety and quality at breakfast and dinner is consistently excellent. The have an ice cream machine and it produces very tasty ice cream. The restaurant offers multiple baby chairs.
The staff are kind and due to strong Russian patronage - mostly Russian speaking.
The amenities are varied: an indoor and outdoor fitness area, a tennis court, a mini-football pitch, massage, manicure and pedicure parlours, stores for food stuffs and general goods (slightly overpriced of course). The indoor fitness is extremely small (app. 20 square meters) and poorly equipedy with a bench press, some weights, and a few analogue bikes. There is no treadmill.
Parking is provided, off-site at a roughly paved lot. This causes some discomfort if you want to unload and there are no on-site parking spaces. The parking policy is unclear: on-site spaces are supposedly reserved for people who own apartments / villas at the property but many guests park inside as well.
All-in-all we've had a largely positive experience....
Read moreWe were expecting to enjoy a nice holiday but unfortunetly this resort made it impossible for us to have a good time. The quality of our stay did not own to the high price that we paid. Not only was the staff extremely rude and awkward but they also try to scam you every way possible. When you arrive the sign on the street navigates you towards the complex itself but you can't enter before you pass by reception first, which is 500m further away, and quite hard to find due to the lack of signs. The resort doesnt allow car parking inside the complex (there is an additional parking space high up on a hill). You're only allowed max 30 min stay infront of your building and then you have to pay a fine. However in our case, there was a "problem" with the system and one of our cars couldn't get in the parking. This was eventually solved but the funny part was when the security guy called me personally to tell me that I have a fine of 60 lv but he hasn't notified reception yet because he apparantly wanted me to pay him personaly. He tried very hard to convince me that I had to pay, eventhough I was sure he was bullshiting me and eventually I went to reception where they told me that there was no such thing. The flat itself was okay-ish, despite the damaged bathroom door and the overall quiality of the bathroom, but was clearly not worth the asking price. The resort itself is very noisy during the night and early in the morning, so don't expect a good night sleep. Furthermore, you are not permitted to invite anyone inside the resort, eventhough the complex has various restaurants inside , and this is because security says so! In general they were extremely primitive and bad mannered. When asked why, the answer was "You can count right? You're 4 and you have 3 cards".
Overall, I would advise you to skip a holiday if you have to stay at this resort. It's not worth the money nor the...
Read moreOh boy, where do I start. First, you can park at a remote place and have to walk 10 minutes every time to reach your room. There is also elevation. The room - old and cheap furniture, not super clean and I had a wasp nest at the balcony, so it was unusable. Stuff from the wasp nest were fallen and the floor was infested with ants. But this is the little problem. The hotel was cheap enough to tolerate this. However, the service and the whole organization was atrocious. They give you a chip to be able to go in and out of the complex, making you feel monitored like cattle. Second, the janitors wouldn't stop banging on my door even after I told them that I want to relax and don't need cleaning. One of them even started unlocking the door. Wtf?! Then I went to the city and when I came back I parked at the restaurants parking lot to have a dinner (the other parking lot is at the other end of the complex - lots of walking). Turns out it's forbidden. At one point someone from the reception interrupts my dinner to tell me I owe 20 BGN because I parked more than an hour at an unauthorized space. I told them I'm gonna pay and to leave me alone, they told me I will need to pay 20 BGN for every hour...
So I don't finish my dinner and go to pay at the exit of the complex, where they tell me I can't pay with a card, cash only. I didn't have cash with me and the guy told me "you better find some because you will need to pay 20 for every hour, hurry". I found an atm thankfully and paid, then they will still not let me out for another 20 minutes. At this point I had enough stress caused by their stupid systems and rules and cut my stay short. Thankfully they didn't even try to convince me to stay. I would have paid even more to just get away from this...
