The experience at Hotel Kaliakra was not as I expected to be, in the bad way. First of all, there is no wifi in the rooms, only at the reception and on corridors, the extra bed in the room was very uncomfortable (as comfortable or less than the lounge chair), plus it was broken, the towels were very old and torn, the bed linen and pillows were ok, for a 2 stars hotel, were quite old too. Secondly, the cleaning in the room was quite non-existent, they only took the trash and change towels and in one day we had no towels because washing machine was broken, I needed to ask myself after 4-5 days to change my bedding because was dirty, not to talk about the floor, which was not cleaned at all, not even once and the toilet the same. And if you think that this is bad, I don't arrive yet at the worse part, the meals. In the first day, I needed to clean a table myself to have where to eat, because were trash and dirt everywhere, and the food was horrible, the worse I ever ate. The stuff who served was nice, and hard working, but they were in deficit and they could not cope with the large number of people, plus they were very young, most of them 18,19, 20 years old, they didn't have enough experience, but they strive for everything to be fine, the major problem was the low number of them. And this is why we needed to stay so much in the line to get some food, and there were 3 places where I suppose to wait separately, for food, salad and sweets and sometimes I needed to wait 40 minunate. Ok, I waited, 30, 40 minutes, for what, for a food worse than at the hospital, and cold every single time, both in the begging and in the end of the lunch/ dinner (only soup was hot). There were only 5-6 types of food: fish, chicken, pork, vegetables, rice and potatoes ( 1 from each tipe of meat and 2 types of garnishments/ meals), the condiments were totally absent, the taste of the food was very bed, I had enough of this cold and horrible food for the rest of my life. There was no sauces or lemon for the fish, no yogurt at all, and milk if you were lucky to catch. Pizza was ok but the pasta, I can't describe how bad they were, I am so sorry I didn't took some photo, but I was too nervous, I skipped breakfast because I was too tired in the morning to wait so much and to "fight" to get some food. The sweets, some of them were ok, some of them were the cheapest that they could find but there wasn't too much variation, like at the rest of the food ( I heard once a little girl asking her father why she needs to wait half an hour for only 1 cup of icecream). Enough with the food, let's move to the drinks: coffee was so horrible, and there were only 1 type of coffee that you could get and 1 type of cappuccino which was ok. The juices were the worse that I ever imagined, the taste was so artificial and in all of them was added water to make them longer, sometimes was like I drank water with the taste of juice, so I stuck with only water for the rest of the holiday. We didn't have one decent juice, no decent coffee, no fresh, or frappe. There were only few drinks available, and 3 cocktails, made with that horrible juice, the alcohol was the cheapest that they could find, and you need to stay so much in the line even to ask even for 1 glass of water ( even for the plastic glass you need to wait ( glass was a rarity anyway), or for the straw, or for spoon to mix the coffee) because at the bar is only 1 barman and you couldn't take even a plastic glass yourself. The barmans were nice, especially Yovi, he managed to make very good cocktails form what he had there, he made the best drinks there, he was very nice, polite and helpful, and the only reason why I will give 2 stars this hotel, instead of one. The main problem was the hotel management, not the staff who was exhausted working so many hours with such a large amount of people, and the manager didn't give a f*ck about us, people who came this year, because everything...
Read moreHi, I would like to mention a few things about my stay at this hotel. I bought an all-inclusive stay because I wanted a carefree vacation. When I arrived at the hotel, I noticed that the room that I took was not up to the 4-star standard that this hotel claims to have, apart from the fact that the cleanliness left much to be desired in the most obvious way, for example there was dust, a lot of hair from previous customers including in the bathroom in the bathtub and toilet, the refrigerator in the room did not work and the television package was almost non-existent. During the time I stayed there, only after insisting at the reception, I received clean towels and they emptied the trash can in the room, as for cleaning or bed linen, you can't even discuss it, even though it was an eight-day stay. I had to buy toilet paper from the store because the maid didn't look or forgot to check, she simply didn't even enter the room even though we requested it. The drinks machines are very often broken or they are not refilled, so you should always be prepared to have something to spare. The food as diversification is mediocre, but all my appreciation for the staff which consisted of a few young people who, although they were few compared to the number of customers, worked until they were exhausted and still could be kind and help me promptly and with a smiling face when I had a requirement for them. The only good thing about this hotel was the animation team, which was also the reason why I accepted all the other minuses mentioned above. It is made up of young people who are very dedicated and always ready to send you a good mood. I work hard from morning to night and do a very good job with professionalism through the multitude of activities, games, special evenings, activities for children and adults, shows, disco, etc. I believe that this team is what saves the image of this hotel. If I would ever return to this hotel it would be because of these young people in the...
Read moreI recently stayed at Vemara ex Kaliakra Hotel in Bulgaria and was utterly disgusted by the experience, despite its 4-star rating and the nice view.
Pros: The view is the only good thing about this place.
Cons: Parking Issues: Although the agency told us we would pay for parking at the hotel, we were forced to park 2 km away. When we informed them we needed the car at 7 AM, they said it wasn't possible that quickly. Overcrowded and Disorganized: The dining area was always overcrowded and lacked any form of organization. Terrible Food Quality: The food was of the lowest quality. Fruits were unwashed, and even the cutlery and plates were dirty. Disgustingly Sticky Tables: Tables were sticky, covered with crumbs and spills, and never cleaned after use. It was downright disgusting—something I have never encountered before. Unhygienic Surroundings: Seagull droppings were everywhere—on sun loungers and chairs. It was disgusting to sit down. Dirty Linens: Bed linens were dirty, with hair that wasn’t ours.
Despite the nice view, Vemara Hotel was a nightmare. Filthy, poorly managed, and a total disappointment. I wouldn’t recommend this...
