Good prices but compared to other places in Golden Sands, this is very disappointing. Broken balcony doors, dirty bed sheets, old disintegrated mattresses (see pic), no one changes towels or empties the trash cans, the shower is just a hole in the bathroom floor. The food is the same every day and they recycle it all the time. The staff gives you dirty looks if you get some extra food (even though it's 'all-inclusive') but even if you don't, the remaining food from the breakfast, like eggs, hotdogs, cheap salami, rice, gets mixed together and served as "fresh" food on the next meal. We got the same bland horrible rice soup 4-5 days in a row and they just added extra ingredients every time so people think it's a new one. The dining area coffee is undrinkable, it's like laundry water, everyone agrees if you read other comments here. The all-inclusive drink bar is open only starting with 10 AM so you can't drink anything till you come back from the beach and the sodas are the cheapest worst ones, like the supermarket 25 cents soda brands. The beer is watered down and the wines are green looking and terrible tasting from cheap plastic bottles. The staff kept telling us not to use or take glasses away from the bar or in our rooms but when we used multiple plastic ones (really bad, cheap and and thin ones, the drinks literally leak through them so you have to use multiple) they started trash talking us in Bulgarian because they're so cheapskate they can't afford losing like one extra 1 cent trashy plastic cup. There are 2 staff ladies who literally slam dishes and utensils around at the dining area and angrily snatch the empty dishes away from your face and then you can see them mumbling angry things as they walk away. It's ok if you hate your job but don't take your frustrations out on your clients. It's an international holiday place full of Romanians and Germans, yet almost none of the hotel workers speak English. I'll attach 2 pics, the mattress and the burnt/charred food:

READ BEFORE YOU BOOK!!!! Wished we had! Balkan holidays are liars!! The reviews are true. When we pulled toilet flush the water leaked over floor. Bathroom and the water stank of sewage. No hot water. I had a broken bed. Could hear other guests and drunk people passing by. Rude hotel staff. Unfriendly. Not good English. Entire room not clean. Our bed sheets were dirty and stained. They did not change them before we arrived. Dirty and stained towels. Room looked like a prison cell. Whole hotel out of date and dirty. No air conditioning no fans, very hot rooms. Smallest balcony I have ever seen. Paid for sea view, we got a view of a tree! Stayed here one night then had to leave. Cheap holiday turned into an expensive one. Had to rate one star because would not let me put zero.

Happily, the breakfast was acceptable and good, not much variety as in other places. Unfortunately, I am very disappointed with this hotel … it was worse than I expected. First of all, it is very old (that’s not the main problem) but with a lack of maintenance, old and bad looking furniture, structure … Second, is VERY dirty…. a lot of dead insects on the floor behind the curtains and beds… the tables dirty with juice … Bad canalization.. No air conditioning on the room, we had to sleep with the window opened and woke up with mosquito bites. The parking is paid, the Wi-Fi is paid… More to say… but my last advice for this hotel is to use and save the money they receive to MAINTAIN and RENOVATE! If not.. I really think they will lose clients.

Had booked this hotel as last-minute deal(first mistake.) So arrived here at 4.00am in the morning. Upon seeing this place my first impression was "What a dump" my second impression was "What a Bloody dump" and my third impression was "What a F####ing dump". From this point thing went downhill, we got a hovel, I mean a room on the 2nd floor and cause we were tired went to bed. Sleep didn't come easily as there was a bunch of teenagers running up and down corridors banging on every door added to this was lack of air condition, all sorts of nationalities competing against each other to see who could be the loudest and the endless horrible smoke from evil smelling cigarettes drifting through the windows. We put up with this for two days then requested a move, which to be fair, they gave us. We then got a room on the 7th floor, unfortunately we were put next to four East Europeans who glorified in slamming doors all night, smoked constantly, shouted and bawled every time they talked to each other.(Why can't young people talk to each other quietly?~) The worst thing about them though was that they only really came alive about 8.00pm to about 10.00pm when they would go out, they generally came back in between 2-3.00am and that's when the shouting, banging on doors and slamming of doors would continue. To add balance to this review there were a couple of good points, ........em, .........eh,.........Oh yeah, some of the staff were very pleasant and the breakfast was edible if like me, you make do with toast & Tea. NB: Like all cheap hotels the world over, the breakfast cereal cornflakes were like cardboard with very little taste. The rooms were really dated and to say they were tired was a bit like saying "Rip-Van-Winkle liked a nap." NB: Time for another positive, "Sheets and Towels were cleaned and changed regularly" although in some cases at this hotel, it probably wasn't necessary as some of the young people seemed to be having an amnesty from soap & water. Despite the above we still managed to enjoy our holiday in Bulgaria, difficult as it was, and we did meet loads of decent Bulgarian people. Travelling into Varna on a local bus should not be missed and the prices of everything in this country is so cheap that it would force, "A Wee Scotsman to dip into his sporran" Lastly this hotel is in the centre of a really lively location and does not lend itself to R&R(American Term) If you want a quiet time avoid this hotel like the plaque, on second thoughts, "Do not book this hotel under any circumstances" You have...

Stayed here for 10 days in mid September on a 10 night budget holiday including breakfast. We were expecting something truly horrendous after reading previous reviews, but were surprised that it was OK. However it could be improved on. So here's what we found to be the Pros and Cons.||PROS|Location - 10mins walk to beach past bars/restaurants/shopping units but our room was quite so had no problem sleeping. Supermarkets and pharmacy right next door. ||Staff - friendly and helpful, even charged up my partners phone twice as he forgot his charger ||Room - good size, plain white (though furniture looks old and dated, including communal areas), had good sized fridge and very old tv with local channels, cleaned every day and towels replaced when we made it obvious we needed new ones by leaving them on the floor. ||Balcony - table n chairs and a bit of extra space so plenty of room (our neighbours sat out sometimes and had space for their lidos/ beach inflatables there too) there was a clothes line with a few pegs so found it useful for hanging out wet swimsuits||Pool - fair size and had a small shallow section, refreshing after getting too hot in the sun, plenty of sun loungers/mats/umbrellas but we were there at the end of the season||CONS|Bathroom - good size wet room style BUT flaking paint and plaster on the ceiling, our shower gel always seemed to be covered in a layer of white dust and we sometimes found little bits of paint/plaster on the bathroom floor||Sheets - old, and should be changed more often (my partner wasn't sure if they changed the sheets or just put them back on the bed?) ||Breakfast - Terrible and awful, really bad quality and no fruit. Also looked like they put out last night's leftover dinner for breakfast, like cold pasta with feta type cheese on top. We really used the fridge to get things from the supermarket and brought coffee up and ate on the balcony ||Apart from that around the pool area could do with some tidying up but we could see they were doing some of that when we were there, wiFi is only free in reception communal areas/ outside tables and was adequate for checking Facebook n emails and there is a small charge for WiFi in your room...
