Ganesha is located around 5km outside of Kampot centre. The drive is fairly smooth as the roads were paved early this year.
It’s set on beautiful grounds surrounded with nature, countryside, rivers and rolling hills.
There are a variety of options for rooms including dorms and private bungalows on the river front.
I stayed on a riverfront bungalow with private bathroom. It was sensational. There is only a fan and mosquito net but it’s much cooler in this part of the country so often we slept with the fan off.
They serve breakfast lunch and dinner. The food is high quality. The prices are a little higher but the portions are huge and really delicious.
You can rent motorbikes, bicycles, hire kayaks, or pick their brains about the best places to do yoga, have a bite to eat or explore in the area.
I’d definitely return. The grounds are so peaceful and relaxing - it’s a wonderful escape from the bustling cities.
The only reason I can’t give it five stars is that we were a party of three. The third person chose to upgrade from a dorm room to a bungalow near the pool - ooh I forgot to mention that before. It’s fabulous. A natural pool, basically a hole in the ground sealed with clay. Beautifully fresh and warm. Anyway, after a night of heavy winds, his bungalow roof had a hole in it which meant that his room was covered in leaves and dirt including all his belongings. This is by no means a reflection on the place as a whole as they dealt with it well but regardless,...
Read moreAfter the reviews on Google I was a bit hesitant but the hotel was already booked. I experienced this place different than the other reviews. Yes it's far from the city but they arranged a lot so you have a comfortable stay. You can eat in their restaurant, they have sunset beers at their natural pool with lights and hammocks. The restaurant is not yhat expensive but i can imagine it might be if you're on a budget ($2 for banana pancakes, $1 for beer $1,75 for plain yoghurt), you rent a bike for $3 a person and use it every day you're at their place. Also they arrange scooters for $5 a day and they even call you a minibus or tuk tuk if you're travelling further. They're always very friendly and the owners are indeed the ones who make a pleasant stay. It's also very handy to meet other travelers here. Being eco they don't have toilet paper here, you should use the water or buy toiletpaper from them or in advance. If you stay in the dorm or double bedroom the toilet is downstairs in the restaurant which I found a bit inconvenient because if people are still drinking beer or in the morning having breakfast, you have to pass them to go to the bathroom. There's also one in the garden which I...
Read moreI absolutely loved my stay at this resort. The facilities are exceptional — from the stunning swimming pool and the spacious, flower-filled yard with fruit trees, to the well-equipped gym and charming restaurant that serves delicious foods whole day. The outdoor areas are thoughtfully arranged, creating a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere throughout the property. What truly made our experience special was the hospitality of the staff. In particular, I’d like to mention one of staff Saly, who greeted us with warmth and went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfectly arranged. He even connected us with a friendly and English-speaking Khmer tuk-tuk driver who took us on a fantastic private day tour to five major landmarks at a very reasonable price. They helped us to book tickets to Phnom Penh and to use their motorcycle to the downtown.I’ve uploaded plenty of photos to capture the beauty of this resort — it truly leaves a...
