We chose this place because it was one of the only extended stay hotels that we could find that accepted dogs. We stayed here a month. It is located in a quiet neighborhood away from the bustle of the active downtown city nightlife (though we did have some issues from neighboring yappy dogs barking all night). The downstairs staff that guard the gate and take care of the automobiles were very nice and helpful. The cleaning staff however left a little more to be desired.....the cleaning schedule is more of a guideline as they never really seemed to pick up our linens or laundry at a set time and cleaning could very well take all day....and they don't change out your linens....you're given a one set and you have to wait for them to be cleaned before having them returned to you....and be prepared to have to put them back on the bed yourself. The quality of cleaning is suspect as well....on more than one occasion I had to bring our towels and bed linens down to the office as they had not actually been washed at all...just rinsed and dried. Don't expect the cleaning staff to come into your apartment to clean if you have a dog...unless you are present....as they are terrified of dogs. They will come in to tidy the place up but not actually clean. They will sweep and mop the floors, make up the bed, dust off tables (but not actually clean them), do any dishes left in the sink....but don't expect much more beyond that. After a month the shower tiles and curtain had mold and the cleaning lady didn't seem to notice or do anything about it (I had to go out and purchase my own cleaning supplies and do this myself). Upon arrival we were given 1 roll (yes! one whole roll!!) of toilet paper and told that we would have to supply our own from thereon (most extended stay places give you a continuous supply). Kitchen supplies (dishes and cooking equipment) are pretty limited...so if you plan on staying for a while and cooking in a lot be prepared to have to buy your own stuff. Luckily there is a Thai Huot Market nearby where you can purchase needed items such as toilet paper, household supplies and groceries. As for charges.....I think it's priced a little too high for the amenities they provide. I also suspect we were overcharged for electricity (compared to what our friends who live locally are charged for power). I'm sure there are better pet friendly accommodations to stay at in Phnom Penh if you have the time to research or perhaps contact a local Western friendly...
Read moreI stayed here back in February '13 as an 'emergency hotel' booked at literally the last minute after an impulsive decision to extend the holiday I was currently on. The hotel is located pretty deep into the city. Whenever I visit Phnom Penh I try to stay along Sisowath Quay as everything is there and you get a bit of a view. I remember the Tuk Tuk driver had some problems finding the place, he had to stop at least 5 times on the 30 minutes transfer from Sisowath to ask for directions. In his defense it was almost impossible to spot the hotel, all the buildings and streets looked identical. It was in an area called Toul Kork which is full of distinct French colonial architecture. ||||I booked this hotel when there was a special promo on it's rooms, can't remember exactly how much I paid bu it was very cheap (maybe 30GBP per night?). A few weeks later I looked at the price again to book another trip and it was very expensive, around 100 GBP per night. Not that it's an extortionate amount in a global travel perspective but you can get much better accommodation for much much cheaper in this city.||||When i arrived at the hotel I was given a free upgrade to a two bedroom room as they'd made a mistake with room allocation. After being led into the room the hotel manager proceeded to take a screwdriver to the second bedroom's door handle. It took her a good 15 minutes to remove the door handle. Feeling robbed of my free second room which I wouldn't have had use for anyway. ||||The rooms are huge, like absolutely huge. Too big. It's more of a holiday villa than a house which almost explains the year round rates this hotel charges but there's just no need for rooms of that size. They're actually so big and because you're in a sleepy suburb of Phnom Penh I got a sense of not being safe. The reception and hotel employees don't operate round the clock but you do have two security guards normally sleeping downstairs. ||||In a rushed summary I have to say good points on this hotel for me at the time was the special discounted rate and if you're a big party of 3 plus people you may enjoy the generous amounts of space offered by this hotel.||||The bad points unfortunately outweigh the good points; this place has no character, poor amenities, no WIFI and it wasn't spectacularly clean. I would probably only stay here again if I came with a group of people but everything on Sisowath was...
Read moreWe wanted a quiet place outside the hustle and bustle of the riverside. We found this gem. It’s close enough via local transportation (PassApp or Grab) to enjoy the restaurants and attractions yet sits in a quiet neighborhood for a relaxing, peaceful evening on the balcony. The apartment was a one bedroom with a living room, bathroom and kitchen. The apartment was fully furnished and for our stay we felt nothing was missing. The kitchen had plates, cups, pans etc so if you wanted to eat in, you could. The staff was AMAZING. They were thorough in their cleaning and attention for detail. We felt very safe as the building has 24-hour security and the elevator required a...
