I really hate to leave bad reviews on places but this place was unacceptable on so many levels. When I booked the hotel the booking had a list of amenities & Facilities that really appealed to my partner and I (which is why we booked the room) Upon arrival it came very clear to us that more than half of the things listed on the website were not actually included in the room. There was no Food & Drink, Shuttle service, toiletries, air conditioning, mini market, shops, room service etc. We Entered our room and our expectations were not high as when we entered the place was dirty and the steps up to the room were very dangerous! When we entered our room appeared like it had not been cleaned, there were new sheets on the bed but my pillowcase was stained. There were towel provided but they had a really strange smell. After a lot of travelling we wanted to shower, the bathroom floor was covered in sand and there was no hot water. On the booking it said there was a view from the window which for us is not essential but after a number of bad things we began to notice everything. The view we had was a garbage heap. We came here for comfort and relaxation but it was far from this. The room was full of bugs which i have experienced before in tropical places so i can understand this is difficult to maintain. There were stains on the walls im not to sure what it was but maybe it is better i do not know! We decided to leave the hotel early as we did not want to stay, it became very difficult to find somebody that worked here to actually pay for our room! We asked if we could pay less due to us leaving early and almost none of the things we wanted actually being included in the price, but it became very clear to us that the staff member we spoke to didn’t speak any english and he didn’t understand what we were saying. I find this unusual with this being such a touristic place with people from all around the world travelling here, how does he communicate? I don’t understand and I do not recommended this...
Read morePositive things:||I don't know if they have renovated this guesthouse since the last reviews but we didn't have the same experience. Or if it actually are two guesthouses. But the location for us was correct. It's also hard to know the difference of the guesthouse and the bungalows. Non of the hotels/hostels are in really good condition at Koh Rong, it's not that kind of island. It's the best island we have visited but don't expect high standard anywhere. We stayed at Happy Elephant Bunglows before we moved here. But after a few noisy nights with insects and cockroaches we were fed up and moved across the road to the guesthouse instead. The rooms were in really good shape, the AC worked and there were no bugs(!). It was silent and we really liked our stay there, good value and the price was fair. ||||Negative things:||The reception isn’t open 24h and closed at 6pm and opened at 8am which made it hard since a lot of people take the ferry back to Sihanoukville 8am and then you don’t have the chance to check out. We could check out just by luck since we met a woman who helped us call for the staff.||||Note that breakfast and warm water isn’t included.||||The comforter was extremely small for a double bed.||||We would defiantly recommend Happy...
