I have never really bother to write a review but I think this place should not be operating with contaminated water.
First day I checked in, the water from the sink was brown and I checked the shower was also brown with red particles floating, it was definitely infected and shouldn’t be used. Underneath the bed, there were dead cockroach and leftover plastic or something…the towel had yellow spot which I’m sure they didn’t really clean the place that often. This leave me quite confused why there are so many 5-stars reviews. The location is filthy.. please don’t risk yourself staying in the Koh Toch Village or the area.
I managed to change our booking to another 2 different place and they also have brown water. You wouldn’t notice until you put the water in the sink. It’s the island, no tourist should be allowed in this island at all, I’ve read it is a sanitary issue that they can’t solve and it is proven infected with parasites and larva eggs.
I come from Indonesia, and even for me this is unbearably filthy place. Don’t get tricked by the tourist spot and the beach. The people here dumped all of the human waste right to the beach where everyone swim and the reason the water is brown is because it is unfiltered, same issue with in many poor places in Indonesia. But, you don’t pay with USD and tourist prices to shower with...
Read moreI recently stayed at this hotel on Koh Rong and unfortunately my experience was super disappointing. The most glaring issue was the pervasive smell of mold in the room. Upon closer inspection I discovered a large patch of mold on the bathroom ceiling, which was the source of the terrible odor. This made the stay very uncomfortable. The cleanliness of the room left much to be desired. In one corner, I found a piece of paper a with a dead cockroach on it. The bed linen looked heavily worn and far from fresh, adding to the overall poor impression of hygiene. Additionally, the bathroom door was damaged, and the light in the room flickered constantly, which was quite bothersome.. The view from the window was equally disappointing, facing a dingy, narrow alley that did little to enhance the stay. However, the biggest issue by far was the unbearable smell of mold, which made it hard to relax or sleep comfortably. I was surprised because opinions on agoda and Google was quite good. I suspect that owner delete negative reviews. Overally: stay...
Read moreWe opted for the room without A/C and it was unbearable especially during the power cuts which happened most nights between the hours 10pm-4am (no fault of the hotels) but I would definitely recommend getting a room with A/C. The fan was dusty and didn’t really ventilate the room causing a really bad damp smell, the bathroom also smelt like sewage not sure if this is an island wide issue.
We did ask them to clean the room and the smell went for a bit but lingered back. There is a small window but again didn’t do much to cool the room down or make the smell any better.
The location is good right on the beach next to restaurants/bars which was handy. The owners were also very nice. I imagine would be a different stay if you had a different room we ended up leaving on day early moved to long set beach.
To sum up I would recommend the hotel if you had a cleaner...
