I feel compelled to share the distressing and deeply unsettling experience - I strongly advise potential guests to think twice before staying here.||||Upon arrival, it was evident that the tents we were staying in were neither secure nor able to be locked properly, despite reassurances from the staff. While this initially didn’t cause any immediate issues, being solo in my family in a separate tent, I felt uneasy and struggled to sleep during our stay. Unfortunately, my worst fears soon came true! ||||On the evening of a full-day boat trip organized by the hotel, I returned to my tent at approximately 8:30 PM to discover that one of my rings – a highly sentimental item from my late father – was missing. It had been left alongside two others on a bedside shelf. Despite searching extensively and asking my family to help, the ring was nowhere to be found. When I informed the hotel staff, they refused to acknowledge the possibility of theft and repeatedly claimed I had “lost” the item.||||Things escalated further when my family discovered that several other high-value items had gone missing from their tents as well: AirPods, earrings, my ring, and a box presumably used to carry the stolen items. Shockingly, even tents that had been locked with padlocks were broken into, exposing how insecure the accommodations truly are.||||The following day, I was taken to the police station by the hotel manager – a harrowing and humiliating experience as a female foreigner. The focus remained on deflecting blame rather than addressing the theft. I was criticized for not using the safety deposit box or securing my tent properly, despite these glaring security issues being the hotel’s responsibility. The hotel also discouraged me from warning other guests about the theft, a red flag for any traveler concerned about safety.||||To make matters worse, the hotel outright lied and claimed that such an incident had never happened before. However, we later discovered that this was the third time such thefts had occurred. The same boy accused in this instance was reportedly caught just a few months earlier, carrying a safety deposit box out of a guest’s tent. It’s shocking that the hotel failed to inform us of this history, putting guests at further risk.||||Things took an even darker turn when the police claimed to have found our belongings +!apprehended a boy (initially said to be 6 years old, later revealed to be 13) as the culprit. This boy, under visible distress, was paraded in front of us and interrogated by four policemen for hours. It was clear he had nothing to do with the theft, yet the entire charade felt orchestrated to shift blame and cover up the incident.||||To add insult to injury, the police refused to return our stolen items – unless I retracted my statement of theft. Under duress and with no other option, I was forced to sign a Cambodian document using my fingerprints, which I couldn’t even read or understand. I was told that if I refused, the boy would be sent to prison.||||This entire ordeal has left me shaken and violated. Knowing someone rifled through our personal belongings – even breaking into tents that were locked – is deeply unsettling. The lack of accountability from the hotel, the fabricated narrative involving the boy, and the blatant disregard for guest safety are beyond unacceptable.||||The owner spoke to me multiple times and expressed his apologies, but I don’t believe he fully grasped the gravity of the situation. This goes far beyond inconvenience – it was a traumatic experience that highlighted severe security flaws, unethical practices, and an appalling lack of guest care.||||For the sake of your safety and peace of mind, I urge you to avoid this hotel. The experience was nothing short of a nightmare! ||||The beach is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been to but based on what happened to me and my family I would never return. It’s the first time (I’ve travelled extensively) that I felt...
Read moreLoved this place. First time in ages I really felt off the beaten track. Very quiet very simple but elegant resort. Small. We were in the tented rooms. Would say that only the front two are really “Seaview” but the rooms were great, with bathrooms outside the tent in the open air. Tents were spacious and air-conditioned set on large raised concrete platforms. I noticed other people had posted photos critical of the area around the tent but I felt that this was just leaving the natural environment as it was. I did think perhaps they could have concealed the sides of our tent in the same way they had the front front to improve appearance but that was a minor detail and didn’t detract from our enjoyment of the place. The bar restaurant area is all sand with benches and tables set in it which was lovely. The pool was great though we didn’t use it because we spent the whole time on the beach. Plenty of deck chairs for everyone, paddle boards available and a canoe see was amazing and the beach beautifully quiet. You can use facilities at their sister hotel about 100 m down the beach. We went there for great massages. They also organised scooter hire and taxis for us and we went across to the other side of the island which is where the party life is. Nice to wander around there but we enjoyed coming back to our hotel which felt much more exclusive and pampered. Little things I think the hotel could do is ensure that rubbish is picked up on the road out and that rubbish storage is hidden well behind bamboo screens like those they use on the sides of the tents?||To be aware that the tinted rooms only come with king size beds and that if you want a twin option in those they will just put a foldaway bed in the corner so not really a fair split for those sharing probably better in that instance to take one of the forest rooms which looked great, although we didn’t actually go into them. Hotel was full whilst we were there but it really didn’t feel in any way crowded. There was plenty of space and the staff were all excellent. Food also some of the best we had on the trip, especially the breakfast...
Read moreBeautiful beach. Nice clear and calm water. White sand. The staff at the restaurant are good. Especially the older guy at the restaurant. He is very good.
This is my personal experience at the hotel. We paid 170$ per night at the hotel and the room and hotel area is always dirty. For 170$ per night the standard should be better. We let them come and clean the room 1 time and it only took the 10-20 minutes to clean it. Which is very quick for cleaning everything…..🥹
Out door shower and toilet. Good concept but when you have to use it and dealing with it for 4 nights. It’s a nightmare. All the bugs, insects and mosquitoes are everywhere. You can’t even use the toilet in peace. You will get covered by mosquitoes by the time you finish using the toilet. I’m from Thailand and I feel scared every time to go use the toilet. I have to make sure the toilet lid is always closed when we don’t use it.
Bedroom: lovely bed and pillows. Good size of the room. The fan at our room is broken but the hotel gave us a standing fan instead. A lot of insects inside the room. Under ours bed 😅 we have to have sure we strip the bed to look under the blanket before we go in. They should have a broom for guess to clean the room. Should have more then 1 floor mat.
Breakfast: good breakfast. One of the best things i like here. The breakfast is 5 stars ⭐️ and staff at the restaurant are good.
Beach area, mattress: we stay there for 4 nights. I only see 1 day that have people came and sweep the mattresses. We found centipede under our mattress. 🥲 luckily it didn’t bite us or my son. Also we found snake skin too. The guy at the hotel when we cheeked in he said this island have no snake. Well, it’s not true. I think staff should at least in the morning clean the mattresses and flips them over to cheek and clean it before guests using it.
Swimming pool: ok. Small but it’s long. You can swim if no one around. I sat it on the step inside the pool and my swimming suit turn dark green on the area of my bottom. 😅 maybe they need to clean the pool more.
