This is a beautiful resort. The wide area of powdery white sand with palm trees between the rooms and the beach front is kept amazingly clean. If you are in a beach front villa, as we were, the view from your room is truly exceptional. The beach itself is nice, especially at low tide. It seems very popular with familes with young children. The pool area is great. The food in the restaurant was quite good. Several aspects of the service were good - our room was set up in a really lovely way in accordance with my requests, several of the restaurant/bar staff were nice and friendly, Lily at the front desk gave us a great welcome and tried her best to remedy problems. However, there were a few incidents where the service/management let us down. We were given the opportunity to pre-order our dishes the night before a beach BBQ and told a time to arrive at the BBQ when our dishes would be "cooked and ready". That whole BBQ experience seemed like a comedy of errors - extremely disorganized with dishes being sent to wrong tables, pre-ordered dished being unavailable, needing to wait for almost an hour to get any food, the billing system being down so we couldn't even sign (and at check out receiving a bill which was much too high for the BBQ and had obviously been combined with a large family table who had ordered a lot - we were just a couple). The manager at the BBQ would not provide me with an explanation as to what the problem was and our food only arrived almost an hour late after asking him several times. The resort did not reply to my email asking for an explanation. Be careful booking the ferry through the hotel. We booked the ferry to leave the island through them, only to be informed when we arrived at he ferry desk that they didn't accept the ticket/paper which the resort had given us. Lily managed to sort it out in the end, but it suggests a problem with whatever system they have in place. While on vacation, you want to avoid stress, but the BBQ and ferry situations actually ended up causing it.|It's a beautiful resort, in a beautiful setting, with some good staff. If everything went smoothly, it would have been outstanding. However, from our experience, their management systems require...
Read moreWe stayed here for three nights in February. The room was absolutely beautiful facing a stunning white beach with palm trees. The whole place looked like something out of a brochure with its soft white sand, blue sea and palm trees. Nor was it very busy. We had a small bungalow, which was extremely comfortable and of ample size. There was plenty of complimentary water and a mini bar and seating areas both in and just outside the room where you could while away the days. There were also plenty of sun beds and towels to use. A prefect retreat.||Food in the restaurant was decent except on valentines night they did a special meal at $45 a head, with no other option. That meant going without food or having to walk to another hotel along the beach, which was not ideal but not the end of the world. ||The only problem was that while we were there they were using a bulldozer to move sand around the beach. This needed to be done due to erosion created by the rain and the sand needed distributing in order to preserve the beach. That I totally understand but unfortunately for us, the two full days we had to sit on the beach and relax were accompanied by noise from the bulldozer making it sound like we were sitting on a building site!||We did complain about the noise and the manager was extremely apologetic and as recompense we were given the Valentine’s Day meal for free. I appreciate this work needs to be done but I think our real beef was that there was no warning about it. Ordinarily when works are going on you get advance notice and we could have gone to a neighbouring hotel instead.||That said the staff were very attentive and kind and extremely friendly and of good humour. The service was impeccable and everyone was committed to ensuring we had a good time. The noise was just an unfortunate coincidence and only happens once a year so we were just...
