Eagle Pass Lodge — Hotel in Area B (Shelter Bay/Mica Creek)

The first time I went to Eagle Pass Lodge to hunt pheasant I was invited by a friend. I took my daughter and we did not really know what to expect. Well the lodging was just short of a 5 star hotel. The meals were superb and cooked by a 1st class chef on staff. We have joked that we would go there just to eat and relax in the lodge. That being said, I took my wife my third year just for that reason. She does not even shoot a gun. Next, the hunting was amazing. We shot so many pheasant the first morning out that I thought to myself there can't be many pheasant left in the state. Well we came back to the lodge and had to scare a pheasant away from the door to get into the lodge. Also the type of hunters and Steve Munger are the most upstanding citizens and humans to be around that you could ever ask to hang out with. I told my daughter on the way home I had hunted and lived in the lodge for 3 days and not heard one cus word. And I added that I did not think it was just because there was a lady present. These folks were just that respectful in any environment. Finally I felt safe. Safety is important to me and it certainly is a Eagle Pass Lodge. What and experience!

Stayed at the lodge for only one night but everything was great. We were actually the only ones that night and it was amazing. Room was great and the view from the window was even better. Suzy and Ian were inviting and were there for anything we needed. Highly recommend this place, even if you’re just driving through and need a one night stay somewhere! Lodge is close enough to town but far enough to feel like you are secluded in the forest! We will be back for sure...

I really can’t say enough good things about Eagle Pass Lodge. I stayed there with a large group of people for a work retreat and everything about this place surpassed my expectations. The location and property are absolutely stunning, the staff and service are some of the best I’ve ever experienced, the food was INCREDIBLE and the rooms were clean and beautifully put together to feel modern but cozy.
