We had our company staff stay here a few times now, we've never had an issue until this last visit and it left a very sour taste in our mouth. One of our employee's prescribed medication (that needs to be taken daily) went missing from his room while they were out working. The hotel staff was notified right away of the situation but no action was taken. I then called myself and was told by the receptionist that as per their events log it shows only one card was used to access the room and it was the card given to the guest. I asked if there was a copy of the key card and she said no, only 2 cards are issued to the guests but in fact, only 1 key card was given for the room with the missing medication. I asked for proof that 2 cards were given out and was not given that. Addition to all of that, our employees put the privacy tag on the door handle so no one enters the room and this information was shared with the staff when notifying them of the missing medication. Their response was that someone just scanned the room for 30 seconds and got out and it was their policy.. For one, not sure why a 30 second scan was necessary if there is a privacy tag on and not even clean the room if a cleaning staff did enter. On top of that, the events log wasn't lining up with the timelog of the employees. The staff then added the small detail that their events log doesnt account for Daylight Saving Time and was behind an hour. Even with the hour behind, the time logs weren't making sense. One time stamp on their event log showed the room was opened at a time when the employees were at a restaurant having dinner. As a result of all this, our employees checked out a day before and I explained that being the reason why. One being, the one employee needed to return home to pick up more medication as he needs to take it daily, and 2 being the rest of our employees did not feel comfortable nor safe staying here. The supervisor did not want to understand and still charged us for the night when our employees checked out a day early due to the theft that occured on their property. I believe the hotel staff could have handled the situation a lot better. They were very defensive from the get go, may I add rude and sarcastic, not to mention, their story kept changing every time they were spoken to about the theft. We will definitely not be staying at this Best Western location again. If you do decide to stay here, I advise you to lock any valuable items. If they try replying to this review and say this is a fake review, that is completely false. I opened up a ticket with Best Western Corporate office in regards to this situation and our stay dates were Oct 16-19. Unfortunantly, the Corp office was not able to intervene much as Best Western locations are franchises and...

I booked some rooms for a Boudoir event few weeks ago and when booking the room I informed the staff what this was for and that it was for Boudoir photos.
Now I’ve had ZERO issues from hotels regarding these sessions and have been welcomed and ensured that everyone was happy & appreciated my business & never have been given grief or ridicule for what I am doing until today ...
I answered my phone today & it was the Manger from the Best Western in Walkerton she called to inform me she would NOT allow me to use her property for such “solicitation “ . & began to try to inform me that I was wrong to go behind her back and not ask permission to use the hotel because it is Private Property. • when I booked the room I went in to book on 2 separate occasions & explained in detail why I needed the rooms all was fine until today. With only 2 weeks notice.
She said she is refusing my business and wants nothing to do with my business & canceled my reservation . She than began to say she would talk to her staff and called her by name to me all well talking in a very rude demeanour from start to finish of the conversation.
I am very appalled and this is why I urge people to do Boudoir photos this is a day for Women Empowerment... not to he perceived as Trashy...
Thankfully I was able to find a much nicer & more welcoming staff & owners to host this Boudoir event & many more to come but I Regret to say I will NEVER use the Best Western or...
Read moreIf you’re heading to Varney International Speedway, look no further—Best Western Plus Walkerton is not only the closest hotel, but it’s truly the best place to stay. We stayed here with our family while in town for a race, and every part of our experience was exceptional.
First, the staff are phenomenal, and Sherry in particular is a total standout. She’s the kind of person every hotel dreams of having. Sherry is incredibly knowledgeable about every aspect of the hotel—from check-in, to amenities, to the surrounding area—and she went way above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and taken care of. She treated us like family, and her genuine care made a huge impact on our stay.
The hotel itself is spotlessly clean, peaceful, and cozy. The beds are super comfortable with the softest sheets ever—seriously, we slept like royalty. The indoor pool was warm and perfect, especially for our two kids (ages 6 and 7) who absolutely loved it.
The breakfast? Out of this world. Not just your typical hotel spread—everything was fresh, hot, and delicious. And don’t even get me started on the 24/7 coffee bar, complete with the best hot chocolate machine in the world. It’s worth the stay just for that!
Every single staff member we interacted with was kind, professional, and helpful. You can tell this hotel is run with heart. Whether you’re visiting Walkerton or need a reliable stay close to Varney Speedway, this is 100% the place to book.
Hotels wish they could. Sherry for President of...
