Cabot Trail Sea & Golf Chalets — Hotel in Cheticamp

I don’t think I’ve ever written a review before but we are really frustrated and upset over the situation that had occurred. I had called the evening before to ask for a late checkout (12pm instead of 10am). I offered to pay an extra fee and was told I would not be charged and that a note was made on my file to ensure the cleaners were aware of the time change. I received a call from the office at 10:20 the next morning asking me if I was aware that checkout was at 10am. I told them of course I was aware but we had confirmed the evening before that we would be able to stay until 12pm. I was told that she okayed that request before they had someone new checking in that day and was then asked to be out of the cottage within 15 minutes. This was all in a condescending tone and I felt like I was being put down. We were great guests, kept our place very clean, and we’re barely in the cottage as we went for dinner, etc. I’ve stayed here a few times and had looked forward to it. Stayed here last year and really enjoyed my stay. The only complaint I had was the kitchen ware was minimal and low quality. This year we have everything we'd need in the kitchen and it's in good shape. The facilities are great and you can't beat the location. The staggering was friendly and provided us with a washer toss set for the weekend when we arrived. Cleaners came in and replenished our coffee, towels, dish clothes etc after our first night. My family of four recently stayed in one of your cabins and it was perfect for our stay in Chéticamp. Very clean and simple - no frills. It had lots of kitchen supplies, which we used to cook breakfast and dinner there for two days. ||It was a short/easy drive to nearby hiking spots and walking distance from a bar with live music.
