The location and the restaurant are great. Inside the place, there is a swimming pool and the place looks almost luxurious (don't touch the piano though). The room was quite cold (plain summer), the air conditioning was blasting cold air when we got in. There are no extra covers for the bed. We stayed in the lower floor a 3 digit room starting with 3##. The beds (2 Queens) are espacious and comfortable, after you pull the covers up a bit. The toilet paper holder is way too far for an average person to reach. The shower pressure and water warmth were good and the bathtub clean. The shampoo samples are all with perfume. There is tissue paper, 2 sets of towels and floor towell. Body wash (small) towell also present. To turn on the main room light, you must go to the opposite end of the room. There are absolutely no USB charging ports anywhere on the walls. We could not get WiFi and we were also not made aware of any. The cost $121.50/night during the week, but please look at the added charges: 15.80 HST, 6.08 DMT, 9.95 facility fee, HST 13% Other 2.08, for a total of 155.41 (We did present a CAA member card rhat was also suppossed to be factored in; however, it is pretty obvious to me it was not applied... The card was presented at night to a male reception desk clerk, a pleasant individual, and supposedly processed, but it obviously did not make it to a credit in our favor at all. This is NOT nice!... The person that gave us the bill was alright as well). The breakfast was not included when purchasing in person. The view from the room is awesome and if you get any time to sit, there is a balcony with 2 chairs. Great touch. The TV remote is punny and the sound of the Haier TV is just as bad. There is a fridge and 2 coffee and 2 tea servings. Not the greatest, for either one. The coffee at the restaurant is really no better but it is a great place to go to. In essence, a pretty place with a lot of potential.

IMPORTANT if you want the free breakfast: We were told after the fact, if you want the free breakfast, you MUST book with the hotel (it was recommended to call the hotel) and not with a third party (ie. Expedia). Lack of privacy: I didn't like that there wasn't any separation on the balcony for the rooms.. so anyone from that floor could walk up to your door on the balcony.. Minimal sound barrier: I was woken in the morning by the person in the room above us - closed their patio door and then walked across the room.. probably because the floors don't have carpet. Very basic room.. if you NEED a place to sleep, then it's fine for that, if nothing else was available. The feel of the room is opposite to comfy and cozy. The beds have a fleece blanket sandwiched between two sheets. The bed/frame made a squeak sound when I got up (and I'm a fairly small person). There is a single ceiling light near the door, and two lamps, not much light for the size of the room. The temperature isn't regulated - it was very cold when we arrived (midnight), so we turned the heat on low, then I woke up from being overheated at 4am and had to open the patio door to cool the room off. The pool was just being filled when we arrived, so it wasn't useable. When you enter the main doors, you have full view of the pool through glass walls that wrap around the corner toward the lobby.. seemed kind of odd, like you're on display. It was a nice view.. we could see Toronto all lit up at night. Though we didn't receive the free continental breakfast, we did still have breakfast at the Don Cherry restaurant and it was quite good. The ambiance there was relaxing and enjoyable. Between the music and the gorgeous 180° view, it was a great way to end our trip. An idea of prices for the restaurant (as of Oct 2021), 2 "traditional breakfasts" and 1 coffee, came to $30.

DO NOT STAY HERE We stayed as it was the suggested Hotel for a wedding. It is not a three star hotel like it is listed on the Internet the staff kept telling us that they are a one star hotel and that’s the level of service they are going to offer. We returned late on our third night from a wedding reception to find our entire room infested with fruit flies that were coming up from the drains. The staff was not able to move us to a different room because they had a housekeeping shortage and then they tried to blame the fruit flies on us because we had used cosmetics in the room. It was like a scene from hell, we could not even breath in the room without bugs being inhaled. We had to find a late night room in an alternate hotel and get transportation to a different town this was in the middle of the night we had to pack up all of our things the staff was extremely unsympathetic and said that they would not charge us for the night that our room was infested and we could not sleep there. (Yea no duh…) The one girl at the desk made us a fly trap out of some vinegar in a wine glass and gave us a bottle of extremely hazardous spray to spray all over our beds which we decided was against our best health decision. I complained to the hotel and to Wyndham the hotel owner said that that was the best she could do because I guess she just didn’t care to give a good impression of the hotel. It was extremely traumatic to pack up all of our things in the middle of the night and run around the area trying to find somewhere to sleep. Wyndham told us that this is an independently owned hotel and has absolutely nothing to do with Ramada or Wyndham and there is nothing that they can do in a customer service respect. We heard from other hotels in town that this hotel has been inherited by someone that is intentionally running it into the ground.

If you want your best day to be your worst, then go ahead and book this venue for your wedding. We came across many problems, which could have easily been solved with proper communication. To start, they did not warn us about a change in wedding coordinator: I had emailed the wedding coordinator we first were assigned to after we just paid for the first deposit, and after several emails and no response, I finally sent a follow up email raising the complaint of lack of communication. After this, I was then informed that the wedding coordinator resigned and that we would get a new one. There was also a total lack of communication: The wedding coordinator was not responsive at all until 2 days before the wedding. I always had to follow up email after 5-6 days each time to ask if they had saw my email and after raising the complaint about lack of communication, they would respond immediately, then not change their behaviour at all afterwards. This problem was the same with phone calling. We were also not informed about no proper working air conditioner: When asked consistently, we were given vague answers (“were working on it”) and was constantly told it will be done by the next day. The day before the wedding, we were told that it would be done by tomorrow, and the day of the wedding, my husband called to ask for updates and always the same response, “were working on it”. They provided 2 AC machines and 1 fan which was absolutely not enough for a wedding of 50 people in July, which on top of that had many guests with health conditions. On top of this, we noticed that the servers were profusely sweating due to the AC situation. Also, the day before the wedding when we were able to decorate the venue, we were given to vacuum the venue instead of the workers: When asked if they could vacuum the venue for us, they handed it to us to vacuum the venue ourselves. There was also a lack of preparedness: Although we paid for a mock-tail service, my husband himself had to chase down staff most of the time during our wedding event to ask why there wasn’t a mock tail bowl since we had paid for that. The wedding coordinator then answered “Oh but you told us that you were going to bring it yourselves.”. First off, that doesn’t make sense since you are a resteraunt, so obviously that should be no problem to serve, but also this was not correct at all because a few weeks before our wedding, myself and my husband’s family met with him and reminded him about what we wanted for the buffet service, including the mock tail bowl. There was also lack of support during all aspects of our wedding, as my husband practically had to get up and leave to our table in the venue just to find our wedding coordinator or anyone to help us. On top of all this, there was not enough food: we were given butter but no bread was on any of the tables. On our buffet, we had both chicken and beef as our main entrees and many of our guests only got one of both. Also some of our guests said they did not get potatoes. This is ridiculous because the service we paid for was a buffet, yet there was not enough food. At the end of all this, my husband and I lost total trust in their abilities to pull off our event. We hope this review helps at least one person not...

The location of this hotel is phenomenal and the views from the room are top notch. This hotel has the potential of being a 5 star accommodation but unfortunately it is far from it. Upon arrival I noticed how outdated the lobby and pool area were. Next was the hotel staff member who did not greet us to check-in. No "hello" or friendly greeting. We were early and our room wasn't ready yet which was understandable and when I called ahead to confirm my expedia booking I was denied the early check-in I requested (despite offering to pay more). I had also asked if I would need my credit card at check-in since booking early and fully paying online with a visa debit and was told everything was paid for and I'd just have to show my visa debit for a small fee that would be returned upon checkout! Great! I unfortunately had to check-in late at 10pm due to a wedding I was there to attend. When I went to check in I was denied my room and laughed at when I told the front desk clerk that no I did not have my credit card, I had the same visa debit I paid for the room for and that his coworker told me was okay on the phone. I tried to log in to TD to see if I could rearrange funds and the website was down so no luck! I started to panic and the front desk clerk just smiled at me. Luckily I was able to rebook my room an hour later with the help of a nearby family member. Yay- finally time to rest and relax. Unfortunately the room was awful! There were no hooks, or luggage racks. The air conditioning wouldn't turn off without being unplugged. The room had a heavy bleach smell which Im glad it was cleaned but it was so excessive we had to open the squeaky, almost broken patio door. One if the lamps was completely broken and there was no alarm clock or bedside lamp. The TV was extremely blurry, no remote. The bathroom fan was way too loud, we could hear when our neighbour's had theirs on. The toilet paper holder was quite far from the toilet- my kids and I couldn't reach it. There was also a gap between the door and the wall to the hallway large enough you could peak in if you really wanted to, not to mention no sound proof quality whatsoever. Lastly I want to mention the complimentary breakfast was awful. We ended up going to Tim Hortons. The free breakfast had coffee which would have been nice if the pots had been cleaned. You could taste the must in the coffee- one sip and we had to spit it out. It would have been nice to have cereal available, and more than one toaster. There was a line up to use the one toaster. The only thing we enjoyed about the hotel was the view. We will never stay here again unless the hotel and staff both...

We were in the area for an event and this was the closest hotel. We chose it for convenience and the cost would lead one to believe you were staying a very nice hotel. Sadly despite being under the Wyndham banner it missed the mark on several things. First off, the hotel itself. Its clearly under renovations and after looking at previous reviews, it has been for some time now. The renos appear to be rushed and sloppy. Our room seems to be in the mid-stage of reno so it had minimal furniture. 2 beds, 1 night stand and a dresser. No where to sit? The finish quality misses the mark. Lots of unfinished and poor quality attention to detail makes the room seem cheap and dirty. The shower is a big deal for me and it was terrible. The water temperature varied wildly while I was in it. From extremely cold to scalding hot in seconds with no way to control it. despite my best efforts to adjust the water it never settled at one temp. I gave up. Bathrooms are dark and musty smelling. The toilets are too low. I'm not overly tall but I felt like I had to almost squat to the floor to sit on it. The A/C in our room was not functioning properly as well. We slept with the patio door open all night and the room was sweltering. We sweated all night. But luckily we got the opportunity to go stand outside in the middle of the night for a half an hour as the fire alarm decided to go off in the middle of the night. The lady at the front desk working the night shift seems a little unprepared and unsure of what to do when the fire alarm went off. She was at least apologetic for the inconvenience. We had to wait for the fire dept. to show up and give the all clear. During that time, we saw some people go back in, gather their belongings and leave. After our few hours of broken up sleep, it was morning. Sadly there in no breakfast options at this hotel. There is a tray of fruit on the lobby and the restaurant attached does not open until 11am. We noticed a microwave and toaster on a table in the lobby but couldn't figure out what it was for. Needless to say we were happy to check out and head home. I doubt we will come back to this Wyndham property which is sad. It does have potential but it really needs major work and upgrades. For the price I expected much more. Its priced about 3 times too much for what its worth. Next time we will do our research and sacrifice convenience...
