We had reserved lakeside site #10, but our sophisticated surge protector didn't like the power source and kept turning us off. We tried #11 as well, but it wasn't any better. Levi - the wonderful staff person on duty - was a great help in finding us another site. We moved to site #17 and had no issues. The sites are fairly level and gravel. We had a back-in site - and they all have folliage between the sites making them very private. There are some pull-through sites at the entrance and in the middle which do not have the folliage and aren't as private. Trash and recycling were conveniently located throughout the small, quiet, tidy park. We couldn't get the wi-fi to work for us in our location, but could use our hotspots. The layout of the connections is unusual with the water and electric shared by 2 sites - meaning every other site has the water and power connection on opposite side. So we had sewer connection out the driver side of our fifth wheel - which is normal and the water and electric on the passenger side. It all worked, but could mean you need more...

Penn Lake Campground is our 153rd stop and we stayed for two nights. We were able to secure the prime spot for our motorhome by booking early (site 11) which backs up to the lake and is a great setting. The workers at the office were friendly when we saw them but drove straight to the site when we arrived. The road is hard packed dirt with some gravel so a few potholes and puddles. Like any place near water, there is a slope so leveling is a challenge. The water and electric were 25 feet from the site in the brush and not easy to find while the sewer was in the front of the site - could not hook into it. The utilities were fine with decent water and good electric flow. There is an excellent walking trail along the lake but bring your bug spray. Although we did not use them, the bathrooms were updated and clean. The park itself has a lot for families with a beach, huge playground, volleyball and more. All in all, would rate it a 4.5. Connectivity (9 am): T-Mobile/Bell 9.47 down/0.87 up; Verizon/Rodgers 84.4 down/6.34 up;...

Stayed in July 2017. We enjoyed our stay here, however, I think the price is a little high for the quality of the park. Located beside Penn Lake makes for a beautiful setting and our spot backed close to the lake which was an easy walk on a path through the trees. The park has a couple of pull-thru spots at the entrance, they seem a little exposed to the road. Plenty of tent camping available also in a nice section of the park further in. Electrical and water services were a little distance from the back corner of the motorhome, was able to make them reach without extensions luckily. Sewer was conveniently located. All worked reliably. Easy bike ride into town and there are some hiking trails that surround the lake. ATV's are popular in the area, however, none were seen in the park. Some trails go by the park so there is a bit of background noise. There is a nice park area near the campground, and a short walk around the lake gets you to a playground and volleyball net. Would...
