Canalta Hotel Moosomin — Hotel in Moosomin

Room was filthy. Bottom of bathtub was dirty. Used soap left in tub. Bathroom wall was visible with dirt as well. Dust everywhere. Tv, lamp on nightstand, kitchen chairs where absolutely disgusting with food drippings and dust on bottom foot rests. I’m not talking a little dust. You could clearly see it. Windows had dead flies along the windows sills. I went to the front desk and she was very apologetic and called the manager. I told her of everything that needed cleaning. I said if my family just went to the pool could she get it cleaned again because we wanted the bigger room. She said yes and so off we went to the pool. Omg the pool was so cold we couldn’t swim. We played in the hot tub. The pool area had dead beatles around the drains. I counted at least ten. Going back to the room the bathtub was visibly cleaned but old soap was left on top of the shampoo dispensers. The chairs had been wiped but they were still dirty with food on the backs of them so they just dusted the bottoms. Nothing was dusted and window was not cleaned either. All of this was very visible. All you had to do was look. I was not looking for dirt it was plain to see. I did not go and complain again. We were only staying the one night and I took it upon myself to sanitize all the door handles and remote and high touched ares with wipes I had because it was obvious if the big stuff wasn’t clean then the little stuff wouldn’t of been done. And with COVID I knew it wasn’t sanitized properly. In the morning I explained everything that was left dirty again. The woman was so nice and kept saying sorry. She was going to tell her manager she said. I payed full price and was not cheap for sure. Almost two hundred for the room. I usually stay in the more expensive hotels because I find them them to be be better but not this one. I would definitely not stay here again and do not recommend this hotel...

I was passing through Moosomin for business. The hotel and amenities were all fine, but there was a mix up done by the staff that never got resolved properly. The administrative staff at my office reserved a room and provided a credit card number so that they can charge my office directly. When I got to the hotel, they asked for a credit card to hold for damages, which is normal. Right after that I also asked "didn't my office provide you a credit card number to charge for the room?" At that point, they had already replaced the office card number for my card number, but they said that they would recheck the original booking in the system and call my office to retrieve the card number they overwrote. I even told them the name of the person who makes all our hotel bookings. The next morning when I proceeded to check out, a different front desk clerk couldn't find any note of this and said the room wasn't paid for yet. He also thought I would be checking out the next day. Quite odd since the day before they said they would contact my office to sort it all out and knew I was checking out after only one night. I explained the situation to him and mentioned that I could just charge my card and get it reimbursed, but it is definitely preferable to charge the company card we originally provided to the hotel. He couldn't find the company card so I just paid for the hotel, and went to refill my water bottle before hitting the road. The clerk stops me on my way out and mentions that he found the company card on file and will reimburse my card. Great! I thought it was all sorted out. However, back at the office, I find that they charged my card, refunded, and then charged it again! No charge on the company card at all. I would've given the hotel a better rating if not for the fact that they told me they will resolve the issue twice, yet fall...

This is only our 2nd stay with this hotel chain and 2 nights ago we stayed at the one in Oyen, Sk and it was the best hotel stay in a long time the front desk was more than fantastic (April) she was so kind and accommodating. We stayed at this location in Moonsomin last night and the room was dirty, there was garbage under the couch our son slept on the pullout couch to find old wrappers and dirty tissues.

We had amazing omelets at the Oyen location and that was the reason for our return to the next canalta however this was a completely different experience!!! We get to the breakfast counter only to see the clerk on her phone, waited for a min and said hello?? She looked up reluctantly and I asked if I could get an omelet? She said no we only have these old cold eggs, cold sausage and cold potatoes. It was not even 10 am yet!! She was still on her phone eyes glued!!

The coffee cannisters were empty and I had to switch myself.

Worst hotel stay EVER!!!! Worst staff!!!

Avoid this location!!

There are signs in the elevator stating better food than other hotels and not your average breakfast. However we've traveled for the past 16 days and stayed in many hotels and this was the worst!!!

We were then told omelets are only on Tuesday and Thursday's. Their sign needs to be changed! It looked like Tuesday - Thursday misleading.

The bed in our deluxe king room was like a banana so squished and old. Horrible sleep.

How can locations vary this much?

When we explained this to the front desk clerk she laughed in our face and said we'll note your comments. As she had already printed our checkout and now wanted to get back to her break.

So disappointed.

On the bright side: pool was great! However the great pool doesn't help us on our next 38hrs of...
