Update Sept 2024: We returned to the Best Western Morden, having had a good experience 4 years ago. The check-in was very fast and friendly. There were welcome cookies at the front desk in the afternoon which was very nice There was an indoor pool with a slide, and a hot tub. There was an outdoor sitting area outback. We booked a kitchenette room but honestly, I don't feel that this should have been advertised as a kitchenette room. There was little in the room that isn't already in a standard hotel room (mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker). The only additional items which could qualify this as being a kitchenette was a single electric hot plate, no utensils, four plates, two bowls, 3 cups, three glasses, three wine glasses, and a small bottle of dish soap but no dishcloth...(Were we supposed to wash dishes with our bath towels?) and inexplicably a covered casserole dish, which was odd as there is no oven. Wi-Fi was slow (6 Mbps download, 2 Mbps upload). TV operation very confusing. Breakfast was great. There was a fancy coffee making machine. There was omelets, sausage links, and ham. There were breakfast potatoes, fruit, grab-and-go section which included fruit cups and granola bars hot and cold cereal, bread products, waffle maker, yogurt etc. Although we weren't able to do much with our kitchenette room (no pod, no frying pan, no utensils) overall we enjoyed our stay. Sept 2020: Driving through Morden, we saw this impressive looking building - and we do like Best Western hotels, and we were looking to stop for the night...so even though it was a little bit early (3pm) we decided to stop here. Ann, at the front desk - she was fantastic! So very friendly, and so busy (was cleaning when we arrived and after taking care of us). She was great for checking particular room amenities that we were looking for (ex. wanted a bathtub in our room - most rooms are shower only) and even gave us extra coffee (as two is never enough). Thank you, Ann! Our room was a double queen bed suite (one of the only rooms that had a tub). Done in black and white tones, it had a nice view of an open prairie out back. Pull out sofa bed, two big TVs, microwave, fridge, coffee maker, wardrobe (with the "good" clothes hangars), desk with chair, iron, lots of lamps and TONS of electrical charging ports (thank you!!) 24 hour fitness room was nice, and there was a pool with waterslide that was available by reservation and dedicated room key only (so other people could not walk in on "your" pool time/...an excellent precaution during COVID-19 times). Speaking of COVID...hand sanitizer available everywhere, reminders for 6 foot distancing, and face masks required. Breakfast was an unexpected treat....having stayed in many hotels during COVID-times, I was used to a pre-bagged 'grab and go' breakfast which usually contained items that I did not want to eat (typically high cal empty carbs)...but not here!! You get a hot breakfast which is attended by 2 staff who will get you whatever you want. They wear masks and gloves. Breakfast options included two kinds of omelets, bacon, hash browned potatoes, bagels/toast....then the other items included fruit, oatmeal, cereal, muffins, yogurt, milk, juice and coffee. This hotel was so nice that we decided to stay 2 days in Morden, which was great as we got to explore the Canadian Fossil Discovery Centre, the Manitoba Baseball Hall of Fame and check out the Boundary Trail rail road short line. Thank you for the excellent stay, and excellent service!

The rooms, although fairly new, were not well maintained, with dirty, stained carpet and leaky windows. There was a leak in our room during our stay which caused damage to the carpet and resulted in the wallpaper falling down. The front desk staff did not remain at the desk as is usually the case at Best Westerns and we repeatedly had to go searching for them. The staff member working the morning of Sunday, Oct 5th, was found in the office behind the check-in with her feet on the desk and seemed very annoyed each time a guest asked for assistance. We had stayed at 2 other Best Westerns in Manitoba over the past week and had far better experiences at both. I would not stay at this location again due to the lackluster customer service and poorly maintained rooms.

Fabulous rooms, beautiful pool with twisting slide, hot tub...beds are like sleeping on a cloud. Clean place to stay. Great hot breakfast. Fridge, microwave, delicious coffee. Popular items for sale in lobby. Free parking, free wifi, free water. Bathrooms super clean. Comfortable chair with huge ottoman. Lots of space for clothing. One of the most beautiful Best Westerns I've stayed in. The staff are super nice. Terrie made us feel like we were more then welcome. He is a great front desk man. Much to see & do in the area. Shopping, restaurants, many amenities close by. Nice lobby area for visiting with others. Highly recommend this Best Western.

Upon booking our stay we told the hotel we were paying for our stay by debit. They agreed, we arrived on Monday and we're told their debit machine wasn't working. We had a two night stay and agreed to pay upon leaving. Instead of honoring our request they took it upon themselves to charge our stay to our credit card. We are very upset that the man at the front desk acted as though is was no big deal. Claiming there were no notes on the system telling him nothing. Apparently communication is a problem with this hotel. We had made it very clear for them to understand what we requested and expected them to keep their end of the agreement. Upon arrival at the hotel we were greeted by a very grumpy front desk clerk. We can understand people may have a rough day, but as a public servant you need to let those moments go and be ready to greet everyone with a smile and not a snappy short attitude. The following morning after our first night we were greeted by a smiling front desk clerk that was pleasant to talk with and made the start of our day pleasant. Thank you! The room was clean with the exception of some stains on the carpet. Thank you to the staff that made our beds ready for good night snuggles the second night, it was much appreciated! 😀 The breakfast had a nice selection of buffet hot and cold food with fresh fruit to choose from. Thank you to the sweet person who was there early to have it prepped for the guests. Our youngest one enjoyed the swimming pool and overall this is a very nice hotel, minus a...

Stayed here after a long drive. Just wanted to go to the pool like we do at every other hotel we stay at. When we arrived in the evening, the attendant was looking very sour. My wife being cheerful person tried to small talk the lady and she was just deadpan. Later we decided to go to the pool and there was an older couple staring at my one child who has severe eczema. They complained to the front desk and the lady came in and was all " I don't know what is going on with your kid, butnyou have to leave now". We were appalled. In the 15 years my child has been alive and countless public swimming pools and hotels, we have never been asked to leave. He had no open cut and I do agree that all the red marks are unsightly but it would have taken 1 second to explain. It's not communicable and no one is going to catch it. This was discrimination. I called the customer relations on July 20th about the interaction to which they said that it would be a week before I received a letter after the managers do thier investigation. It is now Aug 12th and I assure you it doesn't take that long to get a statement when discrimination is involved. I phoned them again and they said and they are STILL waiting for the manager to respond. I assure you as a well traveled transient worker that stays at hotels, this is one notch where I would never stay at the entire brands locations ever. This child has enough to deal with, then to deal with terrible workers and lazy management. I am saddend that they are not taking...
