Title: A Terrible Experience - Avoid at All Costs!
Rating: ★☆☆☆☆
I feel compelled to share my recent stay at this hotel in Quebec City, as it was nothing short of a complete disaster. As loyal Bonvoy members, my family and I were appalled by the lack of professionalism and abysmal customer service we encountered throughout our stay.
To begin with, when we arrived at 9 pm, we were shocked to discover that our room was not ready. Considering the late hour, this was completely unacceptable. Furthermore, we were informed that there was a problem with the shower, which could have easily been addressed and fixed prior to our arrival. It was evident that the hotel lacked proper preparation and attention to detail.
However, the issues did not end there. The most distressing problem was the broken air conditioning in our room. We were initially deceived by the front desk staff who claimed that it simply needed to be activated in the control room. It was only after repeated inquiries that they finally admitted the truth – the air conditioning was indeed broken and beyond repair. Considering we were traveling with two young children, enduring a room temperature just below 30 degrees Celsius was not only uncomfortable but also potentially hazardous to their health.
Adding to our frustration, the front desk staff proved to be utterly incapable of providing any assistance. The clerk on duty seemed completely overwhelmed and left to their own devices. It was abundantly clear that they lacked the necessary training and support to handle such situations effectively. To make matters worse, the management was nowhere to be found, leaving us with no recourse for addressing our concerns promptly.
Desperate for a resolution, we approached the same overwhelmed clerk the next day to seek compensation for our ordeal. Disappointingly, they claimed there was nothing they could do and simply provided us with the assistant manager's contact information. We were assured that the assistant manager would be available between "before 9 am and 10 am" on Sunday. However, despite our attempts to reach out, our calls were completely ignored. It was an outrageous display of unprofessionalism and disregard for customer satisfaction.
As Bonvoy members, we expected a certain level of service and attention to detail, but this hotel failed miserably to meet even the most basic standards. This hotel's customer service and management were severely lacking, and their indifference towards our grievances was disheartening.
Given the numerous hotels available in Quebec City, I strongly urge fellow travellers to steer clear of this hotel. Don't make the mistake of subjecting yourself to such a disappointing and frustrating experience. Explore other options and spare yourself the headache and...

I am a lifetime Titanium member of Marriott's frequent customer program with over 1000 actual nights spent in various types of Marriott properties all around the world during a 25 year career. Needless to say, I have a ton of experience with hotel stays.
I booked a 4 night stay in this property arriving on 12/3/22 and departing the morning of 12/7/22. I have stayed in this hotel several times since it opened in 2016 or 2017.
Upon arrival, I requested daily maid service. I was told that I must request the service on the actual day. So the next morning, I requested service. After a long day around the city, I returned to my room around 10PM to find the room had not been touched by the maid. When I called down to the front desk, the employee was quite rude and never apologized for the mistake. In addition, the shower was filthy with mold growing in several areas. The next morning the manager( Anthony) apologized for the mistake as well as for the attitude of the employee.
On the third day of my visit, THIS HAPPENED AGAIN. I had requested maid service by telephone and in-person at the front desk. Once again, I returned to the room late that evening and no one had bothered to perform the requested service. In addition, the soap dispenser on the wall was now empty in addition to a filled trash container. When my wife spoke to the front desk the next day, a woman named Maya never apologized and was quite nasty essentially saying, "I'm not sure why you are upset, I wasn't the person who made the mistake". I then asked to speak to the same manager(Anthony) and I was told he was not available. I left him a note requesting him to call me asap and he never bothered to call(although a desk person left me a message). I placed a call to him and I still have not heard anything.
My concerns with this hotel are multiplying and I am a frequent visitor to Quebec City. I have seen many hotel rooms in may career and it is clear this is a property is in decline. I also believe the manager is below the standards one would expect to see from a Marriott. Avoid this property on your next trip to Quebec City.
I see the owner responded. I am 100% certain that the sign was not on the door. The owners own Property director Anthony Beauregard confirmed. No wonder this issue happened. The owner cannot take his/her own responsibility and simply apologize. Excuses,...

I was greeted very kindly by the staff and was informed everything needed to know about my stay.
It is night time as I am writing this, and tomorrow is going to be my check-out day.
I got a one room king bed guest, amazing amenities, and very lovely and stylish shower. Gym is 24 hours with pool that opens at 8 am till 10 pm (unfortunately, no heated water, jacuzzi, or whirlpool per my inspection earlier). They have plenty business / meeting rooms customers could use too. The bar is compact and looking very great. I do not really drink so I had to skip the bar. I have not yet experienced the breakfast so I will edit this review in the near future if I remember.
But why 4 star? The internet is supeeeer slow to the point I could barely attend a zoom meeting or even a video for work related. Per Google, download and upload speed respectively are 0.25 Mbps and 0.18 Mbps. That is reaalllyy bad for a 3-star hotel, not to mention by Marriott. Courtyard, do something about it. I know there are computers that I could use in the lobby, but I prefer to stay in my room with my personal laptop.
I called to see if front desk happened to have any utensils but my call was on hold. After a minute of waiting, I turned off the call and walked down to the "Marche" to pick up some utensils myself (I figured the Marche space would have some utensils). This was not the front desk fault at all as they definitely got busy with check-ins and my request was rather trivial.
After all, I enjoy my stay here. Just wish the free wifi internet to be faster... And I don't know that the King bed guest room doesnt have a bathtub. I was kind of sad because my gf has been talking about taking bath in a hotel and Ive been to many other Marriotts, Hyatts, Hiltons, and even IHGs, but we were struggling to find one. It is what it is. Doesnt matter member or Gold Elite, I dont feel much different amenities between each hotels I have stayed in.
I know Courtyard falls under "Select", below Premium and Luxury level hotels, but 0.25 Mbps internet is not...
