Restaurant Normandin Capitale — Restaurant in Quebec

We recently visited Normandin for the first time, and it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. We had heard good things and wanted to try it out, and it did not disappoint!

We started with a kids’ meal and a cheese pizza. The cheese pizza was absolutely delicious — perfectly baked with just the right amount of flavor that even the adults enjoyed stealing bites. For dessert, we ordered the chocolate brownie, and honestly, it was out of this world. Rich, warm, and decadent — it’s a must-try if you visit!

We also ordered ribs and spaghetti with bolognese. The ribs were tender, juicy, and packed with flavor, while the bolognese was hearty and comforting, just like a homemade classic. Every dish we tried was prepared with care and tasted amazing.

On top of the food, the ambience of the restaurant was welcoming and family-friendly, which made it perfect for us. The service was attentive without being rushed, and we felt very comfortable throughout the meal.

Nous voulions aller manger en famille au Normandin, mais nous avons été très déçus par notre expérience. Mon fils a une allergie au lait, donc j'ai pris la précaution de les contacter par téléphone avant notre visite. La personne qui a répondu a offert un excellent service et m'a assuré qu'une solution serait trouvée, avec même une possibilité de pâte blanche dans le pire des cas. J'ai également vérifié sur leur site internet dans le guide des allergènes qu'il n'y avait aucun produit laitier dans le spaghetti, ce qui m'a rassuré mais en réalité il peut contenir du lait.

Cependant, en arrivant au restaurant et en discutant avec la serveuse, j'ai immédiatement ressenti un manque de collaboration de sa part. Elle était fermée à toute discussion. Bien que je comprenne que les allergies peuvent être stressantes, elle aurait au moins pu faire l'effort de parler au chef ou d'essayer de trouver une solution. Nous nous sommes sentis très mal accueillis et non pris en considération.

D'habitude, les restaurants trouvent des alternatives ou des solutions, ce qui est extrêmement apprécié. Il est difficile de comprendre qu'en 2024, certains établissements excluent encore les personnes avec des allergies alimentaires. Mon fils était triste et nous étions tous déçus, d'autant plus que j'avais pris la peine d'appeler à l'avance. Nous avons dû aller dans un autre restaurant à l'écoute de leurs clientèles

Je ne recommande pas ce restaurant pour les familles ayant des besoins alimentaires spécifiques.

Édit : Après une discussion avec le gérant au téléphone, j'ai senti une belle écoute de sa part et que notre mauvaise expérience était prise au sérieux. Il m'a assuré qu'il s'agissait d'une situation isolée avec une serveuse et non des valeurs de l'entreprise. Went there two times, the first time was horrible, waitress kept doing shots at the bar and was drunk when we ordered, took forever for my buddy to get a beer and when we asked for bills, we had to wait 40minutes to get them after telling her 3 times, but once more she was too occupied drinking shots at the bar, also dropped the machine to pay at least 3 times when trying to make us pay

2nd time was better, althought they did not take all vaccine proofs, only two out of four, but the waitress was better and offered a great and quick service
