We came for brunch as a group of two adults and one teen. Although the wait time for a table was around 30 minutes, we were offered to be seated at the counter bar area, since there was no wait. The atmosphere was casual and lively, especially as it got busier closer to noon with a lineup forming at the entrance.
Our waitress was friendly, welcoming, and spoke English with us, which made ordering and asking questions easy. The menu was impressive—lots of tempting options that covered both savory and sweet cravings.
I went with the Chalet Feast, which was a generous plate combining both sweet and savory. The eggs, sausages, and potatoes were warm, well-seasoned, and satisfying. The sweet half of the plate—a waffle topped with banana, Nutella, and custard. - it hit the spot for my sweet tooth and was a great way to finish the meal.
My partner chose the Ham and Brie Omelet, which was huge—easily made with 4 to 5 eggs—and he really enjoyed it. The teen ordered Steak and Eggs, and he cleaned his plate, so that says a lot.
All meals came with slices of bread served with either strawberry jam or apple butter—nice little touch. We also had two hot lattes,
The restaurant is located in a shared building with other food spots, and just a heads-up—the washroom is upstairs. Our food took about 25 minutes to arrive, which felt a bit long, but understandable considering how busy it got.
Overall, we’d definitely recommend this place for brunch. Great menu, tasty dishes, and a cozy atmosphere. Try to get there early or be prepared to wait—it’s clearly a popular spot for...
Read moreThis location is in a strip mall / food court of sorts in QC - outskirts of the main city by many miles....but it was the perfect location as we were driving out of the city. It also had parking - which was ideal.
My husband enjoyed his meal much more than I did - hence the 4 stars vs 3. I had the Western Omelette and it was extremely dry. I didn't eat most of it and instead focused on the potatoes / fruit / toast. I thought the fruit was some of the best. I don't know why it was so fresh/juicy but the melon was delicious.
My husband had the Breakfast wrap - which he loved. He felt the shining star was the seasoned homemade potatoes. He thought they were the cat's meow - and he doesn't even like potatoes! The seasoning and the cook of the fries just really hit home for him. He would go back here in...
Read moreOur visit to Au Petit Chalet was disappointing. We waited in a long line to be seated, and when the food finally came, the waitress had taken the wrong order. Even after sending it back twice, the same dish kept returning to our table.
What we ended up with was poorly prepared. My omelette and potatoes were so salty it tasted like someone had dumped an entire shaker over them — completely inedible.
The service felt inattentive, and instead of correcting their mistakes, the staff seemed indifferent. A proper apology or a fresh plate would have made a big difference, but that never happened.
Overall, between the wait, the order mix-up, and the oversalted food, this was not an experience I’d...
