I have stayed in many budget hotels in Quebec and experienced great customer service, but this one by far is the worst in terms of customer service. There is a coffee maker in the room, but you'll have to pay $2.00 - $2.50 for coffee. Right there hosts missed a golden opportunity of making guests happy by simply offering a complimentary cup of coffee in the room. I never ever had to buy coffee from the hosts to brew coffee in the coffeemaker provided in the room. Host says there are six electric sockets in the room, but we couldn't find even one plug in for charging my phone. One plug in only for coffee maker, microwave and fridge. You'll have to unplug one to plug in another. No fan or AC. This could be ok for spring and fall, but room may get hot during summer months. I visited in June, so I didn't need a fan. Driveway/ parking space is full of humps and potholes. Host's excuse for this is harsh winter weather as though this is something new in Canada. Curtains getting unhooked and falling off simply by touching the curtain. Two small starving pillows for two of us and no spares in the room. One soap bar expected to be used by two people over two days; when asked for second soap, owner although provided me one, reminded me that she only provides one. One small garbage bin in the washroom and none in the room; you'll have to go to the washroom every time you need to throw something in the garbage can. Service and amenities should have been much better even for the price they charge. I have stayed in many hotels in Quebec in this price range but have experienced much better customer service. On hotel booking review sites, host is always big mouthing people who are writing honest reviews. They are under an impression that by simply being offensive on review websites they can prove they are always right and guest reviewers are always wrong. Host needs to realize that people are writing negative reviews because they are not happy with their service. It's about time host should start accepting their drawbacks and make an honest attempt to improve their services. All these drawbacks I have mentioned in this review are individually apparently small, but collectively these issues turn out to be significant. Only good thing in this property is the nice waterfront and the quaint downtown within a walking distance.
And in reply to the comment that the property owner has left below, I would like to remind the property that this review area is for consumers to write honest review on the service providers, and there's no time limit on when they can do that. I can write a review when ever I feel like. It does not matter whether I have stayed there 2 months ago or 2 years ago. As proposed by the owner of the property in their reply, I do not need any help in writing a review. In fact they need some help in learning about consumer rights in Canada and in learning proper customer service. I have paid for the service; if I am not happy with the service you provided, I have every right to complain and write reviews. These reviews are not here to make the owner happy; this is meant for people to know the really before they make a choice. From guest reviews and from my own experience I can clearly see whether guests are happy or not so owner should not try to misguide people with these ignorant replies to reviews. My advise to the owner is that - don't try to teach guests what to write in review and when to write. Fix your own problems and stop complaining about...
Read moreFriends of mine stayed at this hotel and had possibly the worst hotel experience ever. As a hotel owner, you would imagine that the guest experience would be paramount in their mind. However, at this hotel, you are at the service of the hotelier to meet his standards which are ridiculous. As an example, the 10AM checkout with absolutely no flexibility and a 3PM check in with the same lack of flexibility is terrible. If you cannot turn your rooms in a couple of hours what are you doing in the business? Why do you need 5 hours with such a small hotel with so few guests? In addition, the owner is just plain rude. Unless there is a hotel armageddon please find other accomodations. There is so much more to say but so little time.
While the owner has the time to respond negatively to reviews he does not actually take the time to listen and address the concerns of his clients. This is common amongst all of the reviews on here. I believe this is indicative of the attitude he has towards...

The entire setup was very old and we had to ask for help in working the oven. The bed sheets and blankets were very very old and seemed to have been bought 20 yrs ago. Not very usable. There was a lot of snow which we went for but there wasnt much to do except to stay inside. No winter sports or anything nearby.
On the plus side, they did clear the snow off the parking and generally kept the premises in working state. We went to the lakefront and cane back. Nothing to do. This is a family run establishment and they did come to help in working the oven. They provided baking plate and there were a good number of utensils to use.
Overall we expected a lake view and hoped for some winter sports nearby. There was...
