I had eaten here multiple times pre-covid and the food and service was fantastic back then, so this time around I was excited to eat at this restaurant. The menu has changed quite a bit. We opted for the octopus entree, burger and General Tao main. The octopus consisted of one small tentacle! The texture felt like it had been marinating for way too long and lacked freshness. It was served on a purée that did nothing for the dish, and was completely charred on the thin end. My only regret is not snapping a picture of what they served, considering this entree dish was 20$! The 23$ burger was under seasoned and watery, the “pretzel” bun was extremely soft and fell apart after a couple bites. The oka cheese overpowered any other flavour. The 32$ General Tao was by far the worst dish: a big bowl of steamed white rice and a few pieces of what tasted like generic Costco chicken and sauce, worst part was it arrived complete soggy and saturated like it had been microwaved and spooned over the rice! Total cost 108$ with two beers! Honestly one of the most disappointing meals I’ve had in a long time, the only positive is the decor and terrasse but I would never return.
This used to be the best restaurant in St-Donat but those days are clearly gone, now it’s an overpriced tourist trap that serve below average...

St-Donat finally has the restaurant it’s been waiting for. L’Odyssée opened its doors recently, and after our first visit, it’s clear this establishment will become a local favorite.
We started our evening with the crème de poireau (leek soup), which set a promising tone for the meal. For our mains, we explored their seafood offerings: the salmon tartare was fresh and expertly prepared, while the grilled salmon was cooked to perfection, showcasing the kitchen’s attention to quality and technique. What makes L’Odyssée particularly exciting is their regularly rotating menu. This commitment to seasonal variety means each visit will offer something new to discover, giving diners a reason to return time and again. The wine list deserves special mention as well—it’s impressively curated, offering selections that complement the elevated cuisine.
The restaurant fills a genuine need in St-Donat’s dining scene, bringing a level of culinary sophistication the area has been missing. Based on our experience, we’re already planning our next visit.
Highly recommended for both locals and visitors looking for quality dining...
Read moreWe were a family of 5, 2 adults 1 teenager and 2 children under 10. Place is charming and service was great. The food was not upto par for the price we paid. I ordered the salmon bene for 14$ and it came with no potatoes just a small bowl of fruit and 2 English muffins. The sauce was not good at all. My son took an 8$ plate for children which was French toast. 1 piece of toast and a small bowl of fruit....not worth 8$. My oldest daughter took an adult portion of French toast and she got 2 slices small bowl of fruit for 10.95$ no potatoes. No drink included. My husband ordered 2 eggs over easy with bacon and extra bacon. The eggs were over cooked and brown, when he asked the waiter to change the eggs he answered back that's how we have to cook them or else it will be raw. My husband is a chef and owner of his own restaurant and he knows what he is talking about. 70$ for a disappointing breakfast. If they want to stay open add potatoes to bene plates, lower your fire to make eggs right....and most important listen to your customer. Overall the...
