Bear's Den Lodge — Hotel in Shaunavon

Stayed here for a birthday weekend away! I called ahead of time to check and see what kind of deposit could be made, as I don’t have a major credit card. They answered the phone and told me I could do a cash deposit. Upon arrival, I was greeted by a very nice gentleman working the front desk. He showed me how to get to my room, gave me coupons to use while I was staying, and showed me how to use the WIFI. He also told me if I needed anything while I was there to just call. Upon entering my room, I was already in love with the room. It was just the right size for a single woman travelling by herself. The bath had more than enough hot water to spare, the shower had good pressure and the wifi worked AMAZING! I didn’t hear a single peep from the rooms beside me like you do in typical hotels! It was so quiet and peaceful. Upon checkout, I was greeted by the same gentleman who was working when I checked in. He gave me chocolates while I waited when he checked the room. I will definitely be returning! Everything was so amazing, from the friendliness of the staff to the cleanliness of the room! For being a big hot spot for riggers to stay, they definitely take pride in their establishment!

It is a nice place, BUT…… To spend hundreds of dollars for our crew to stay here, I expected internet that worked!! It was very slow!! Not acceptable at all! The TV shows hundreds if channels, but only maybe 20% are actually subscribed to. So, since I’m not here on vacation, to enjoy all the many things Shaunovan has to offer, I would expect both the tv and internet to be exceptional, and at the very least one of the to be!! As friendly as the owner, and staff might be, they obviously have no idea, what it means to be stuck working in a one horse town, during two weeks of -30, with nothing else to do. Maybe spend some money and upgrade one or both services!! It would and will be the time...

Great value for your money. You can’t beat this price! Spacious, clean room (we had a room with just one bed) Highly recommend. Friendly, helpful, amazing staff! Jason, the owner goes above and beyond. Clean, new, very well kept motel.

Excellent coffee shops and restaurants on Centre street (within walking distance) Try the brisket sandwich and coffee at the Meeting Grounds Coffee house on Centre Street. You won’t be disappointed!
