My family will only stay at the Capri Inn every year we visit St. Catharines. The management is very friendly and accommodating. The rooms are very clean due to their *diligent cleaning staff. No dust on the curtains, picture frames or vents that you would normally see in smaller Inns. There are actually 4 of each size towels in a room with 2 beds (most places would only provide 2 of each size towels for a 2-bed room). They are not as large as the nearby Inns/Lodges but the rooms do not feel cramped at all. Landscaping are well kept and has a bit of water or lake view to watch ducks from. Ash trays are provided and can be found outside of each room. Smoking areas are the "out-door hallway?" over looking the parking lot. The rooms are smoke-free environments, which means your sheets and curtains do not smell of cigarettes. As someone who personally does not smoke, I really appreciate it when people have the smoking areas but you don't see evidence of littered cigarette butts everywhere (*diligent cleaning staff). Parking is not an issue if you have a boat or small storage trailer towed to your 4X4's as there is a small lawn area right beside the lot near the entrance. There is a mini-garden at the front and small picnic area in the back, even though it overlooks the highway, it beats having another Inn over looking at you, while you picnic. Over all my family's experiences at the Capri Inn is always welcoming, the rooms are cozy and well maintained. I highly recommend this place to visitors who stay for more than 2 nights, its worth it! Especially for the good Wi-Fi signal they provide with your room. We keep coming back here every year for the positive...
Read moreStayed her for a week during the Canadian Henleys - usually I try to avoid hotels that have outside doors, but the rates during the week at other stays were outrageous! They were doing roadwork right outside the inn, so I was worried, but it didn't hamper our travel plans at all, and we were 6 minutes from Henley Island. The A/C was super cold, and while the outside of the building may not have been super flashy - once in the room it was just as good as a Marriott or Hilton. The front desk (small, separate office) was always staffed when needed, and were a pleasure to work with when needing to change our reservation, even speaking with Expedia to allow me to cancel one night of our stay when plans changed. Overall, I would most definitely stay here again. Some things to note - there is no breakfast, but there are a bunch of places super close with amazing breakfast - who wants to eat hotel food anyway? Try "Stacked" if you get a chance. There is no microwave in the rooms - if I was only here for a day or two - no worries, but when you amass leftovers from eating out - it would be nice to be able to heat them up without walking to the common microwave near the office area. Ice machine was working which was nice - the Marriott we stayed at last week didn't have a working ice machine. No laundry - but a coin laundromat a mile away. Even tho you are super close to the QEW - no outside road sounds at all - and my room had amazing water views. If you are in the area, and you don't need a 5 star hotel with all the bling - save some money...
Read moreSo disappointed with Capri Inn. I read the reviews and believed that this would be a good experience.
The hotel is old but it is conveniently located off the highway.
My husband and son stayed here on May 23 and 24, 2025. They checked in on May 23. The reservation was for a non-smoking room with two queen beds.
They were given a room with one bed. They went back to get the correct room. The room that they were given stunk of smoke and even after airing it out for several hours it still smelled.
Bad service to give the wrong room and then to give either a smoking room or a non-smoking room that someone smoked in.
We will never book here again.
Edit follow up: Both the room that was originally booked and the one that they stayed in smelled of smoke.
The room that they stayed in wasn't recent smoke, it was a smoking room. Or else it's a non-smoking room and your cleaning staff have consistently not told you that people continually smoke in it.
My husband did go to the original room that was booked and it did not have two beds. That's why he went back to the front desk. Front desk did say they made a mistake and gave him the other room.
Since they were not staying there long, they decided to leave the windows open.
If you are expecting your customers to spend their energy and time to go back a third time to ask you to pay attention to detail to get good service, then your service is a problem.
Trying to convince those who read Google reviews that you actually would have cared on the third try is...
