Room:
Bed is decently comfortable. The blankets are stiff and not comfy. Pillows are decent.
The mini fridge, coffee maker and microwave are great.
The bathroom was severely dirty. Who knows the last time the floors were cleaned. The shower head is rusting and falling apart, as well as the shower wall. The shower definitely needs an upgrade.
AC was working well the whole time.
Amenities:
Th outdoor pool area was nice, however there was no supervision at all and a group of many young boys were playing football in and around the pool for the entire time. This should not be allowed in a public pool that others are trying to enjoy.
The free breakfast was nothing to be excited about, basic waffles, yogurt, sausages, eggs, cereal, toast. The only vegan option is toast, jam, peanut butter and an apple. It would be nice if they provided some vegan milk, yogurt or vegan pancakes or waffles.
The hotel overall needs to be cleaned thoroughly. It smells weird and is dusty everywhere. The architecture of the hotel is unique. The decoration is very outdated.
The fitness room is minuscule, and they don’t even have weights of any kind, only a treadmill, bike and a chest/leg combo machine. It would be nice if they made a more dedicated Gand complete fitness room.
The location is decent enough, you can see the water from the back of the hotel. It is a few minutes drive from everything you’d want to do or see in summerside. It’s not in a pretty area location-wise (it’s right on the side of the road) but it’s good for getting around from a central spot.
Service:
We only had contact at the front desk with checkin. It was brief and the employee was helpful. They do not clean the rooms or make the beds unless asked, which is fine as we had a short stay. Pet friendly is definitely a big plus, which is one of the biggest reasons we stayed here.
Price:
Considering everything, the price is probably a little bit high for hone quality of stay and service that is offered. If the rooms and the hotel overall were cleaned properly, supervision in the pool and vegan options for breakfast, this hotel could definitely jump up to a...
Read moreStayed for 1 night while in town for an event. First part of stay was very pleasant and then it went downhill:||-Checkin was very quick and efficient. The gentlemen was knowledeable and I was all set in about 30 seconds. Told me all I needed to know.|-My room looked to have been recently renovated. Huge TV on the wall and very comfy beds and pillows. Was super happy with the room! |--Unfortunately, the bathroom in the room was not clean. It's like it was partially done. The tissue box was empty, there was no toilet paper (had to go ask for some), there was hair all over the floor and toothpaste still in the sink. Spots all over the mirror. Was pretty gross. I did mention it at the desk when I got the TP but they were indifferent (was not the same person that checked me in; was later in the evening). |-Had a great sleep. Quiet and dark. Then at about 7am, was startled awake with thumping and A LOT of noise. I looked out the door and they were removing mattresses and boxsprings from rooms above us on the second level. Dropping them from the second level down to the first right in front of my room. There was a huge crewof guys there.||I'm happy they are renovating, but nothing was mentioned to me and it was super loud very early in the morning. It disrupted our stay. We got ready and left. I was going to mention it at front desk on my way out but the guy was on the phone (the same nice person who checked me in), so I dropped the keys and left. I know it wasn't his fault.||I do appreciate the room and bed, but you need to keep bathrooms clean and let customers know if there were be renovations happening! Very...
Read moreDuane and I just returned from from Summerside, PEI. This is our first vacation in 5 years. In the past we usually headed South to Florida but this year we decided to explore Canada, the East Coast. I have just recently retired and customer service was always a priority in my past jobs. I wanted to start off and say we were both impressed with the customer service stemming all the way from Kent Quigley to his front desk staff, cleanness of the rooms, breakfast, the friendliness of the housekeepers if anything was needed. The atmosphere in the lounge area was a nice touch with the lights in the trees and wicker chairs along with a coffee table, you could read a book/have a coffee/eat your breakfast. Coffee/tea was available all day outside of the dining lounge. There's a pool outside (also one indoors) with washrooms and a shower and a snack bar (wonderful staff). The pool outside has lounge chairs for sunning, towels, plus chairs with table/umbrella for eating and drinking. You can purchase alcohol, pop and snacks while relaxing and listening to the piped in music. Let's not forget Tuesday evenings there are free appetizers and drinks by the outside pool. If you enjoy golf there's 9 short holes, forgot your clubs the snack attendant will rent clubs to you. There is also a pickle ball court if your up to that! Duane and I have nothing but positive things to say about this hotel. Thank you for making this a fantastic vacation. See...
