Hello Nor-western Staff!!! I’m writing on behalf of newly weds Nicoletta and Colten Steinhoff for the biggest and warmest and loving thank you for how you treated us on our wedding day and night and weekend. To anyone wishing to book with the Norwestern you will be crazy not to book with these people. The staff are the most wonderful polite real and beautiful people. Our venue for our wedding was cancelled last minute at the courthouse hotel hours before our wedding ceremony and the Norwestern heard of this and accommodated us right away with NO CHARGE because of our circumstance . They accepted us on such short notice and said “merry Christmas”. My wedding day was almost destroyed if it wasn’t for their kindness and elite hospitality. They arranged everything for us greeted me at the door in my wedding dress with open arms and even accommodated even my pet cat Tony who meant the world to me, be present in our wedding ceremony making exception after exception for us. BIG SHOUT out to MICHELLE who directed and guided me and the rest of my wedding party throughout the whole ceremony and HER combined with the rest of the staff hosted a wedding that I couldn’t even have dreamed or imagined. I owe them so much and from the bottom of my heart colten and I want to sincerely thank you and we are beyond grateful for how you treated us which was nothing less than GOLD. You all went above and beyond for us. We felt like royalty in their hotel from taking the most amazing pictures, playing our favourite love song when I was walking down the aisle, and provided the most intimate fireplace room in their hotel that was absolutely perfect for us. It was everything we wanted and more. I advise anyone looking to book a room or have their wedding here to not think twice if I had to describe this experience it was literally heaven on earth. Michelle deserves a big raise for how she treated and accommodated us and Colten and I firmly agree your hotel should be a 5 star hotel not a 3 star. Even the bar staff took care of us, offered their sincerest congratulations, taking care of us to a T. The restaurant staff accommodated us in every manner they even decorated a beautiful wedding dinner table for us the next night celebrating with my in-laws. They took care of every detail and complimented 2 days breakfast which was the best breakfast I ever had! The housekeeping were unbelievable; they cleaned our room on time and thank you as well for treating us with the utmost respect and making our room spotless and amazing for the next day. Every single staff member that was there were gems and we have not 1 complaint for anything there. It is a dream hotel and we will be back again and again. if I could write a better review than this one I would. Edwin the general Manager who couldn’t be there unfortunately even went out of his way to give us a lovely congratulations after the wedding through my friend making us feel like the most beautiful and respected couple in the world. We felt nothing but love, friendship , and I’ll say it again, ELITE hospitality from all ends of the spectrum. Front desk staff were absolute gentlemen!!! Congratulations to this hotel. I pray blessings and prosperity over it and hope anyone planning to do their wedding here has just as much of a rewarding experience as we did. THANK YOU! For making the most special day of our life be filled with laughter joy respect , honor and above all LOVE! Read moreVery disappointed in the lack of customer service and reliability of my most recent booking with Bestwestern NorWester hotel. Booked well in advance a specific room type and floor due to needs when on business trips. I usually stay with this hotel when in Thunderbay area and I am generally happy however this time I was made to exit my accommodation for an evening due to a previous booking for the room I was in for the following night. I have no issues with this as it had been booked prior and it was only right they asked me to check out to meet the commitment made to another Guest. I proceeded to book that particular room for the following night as it was available and I was to be in town a couple additional nights. The problem arose when I wasn't afforded the same courtesy with my booking as the other Guest was. An hour prior to arrival the Guest service representative and supervisor on shift stated they would not be able to offer me my room even though it was booked a week prior. When questioned I was interrupted and talked over when voicing my discontent with double standards shown to me on my reservation vrs the client that I kindly left the night prior for so the hotel was able to meet and accommodate their reservation and commitments. I am generally happy with Best Western products however this was a failure on this hotels part and considering they are one of the most expensive franchises across Canada compared to even some of the major cities and centers you would expect the level of service to be spot on to justify the premium in price. I would also suggest that some of the supervisors be afforded some education on customer service as the way I was spoken too and talked over was unappreciated. I will re evaluate my stays with best western as a whole due to this experience as I'm sure many hotel chains would appreciate and treat a customer and business better when having the potential and opportunity to earn up to 300 stays a year cross country. One other quick note as a diamond elite member it is a perogative to use points on some of this more pricey stays. When doing this I find the hotels to be less accommodating and level of service drops even to the point of not offering breakfast because a reward is used. It must be noted by these franchises that even though their arrangement with Bestwestern head office may not be as lucrative when points are used the members booking are still redeeming a chunk of there hard earned points to stay and at 20000 to 36000 a night or 200 to 360 usd equivalent the customer service and amenity offers should not change just because of the corporate arrangement of payment between best western and their franchises. Read moreStayed here a few weeks ago last and Not sure who writes these reviews but must be the owners this is definitely not a four or a five star hotel it is just an updated motel The staff are very rude and they always tell you they’re almost sold out or close to sold out so they can charge you the maximum rate they possibly can, when you arrive at the motel the parking lot is never full and obviously not close to full up, I have never seen this motel full The staff lie to the public constantly just so they can charge you higher rates do yourself a favour drive a few more miles and save yourself a bundle this motel is nothing spectacular and it’s in the middle of nowhere, the food at the restaurant is over priced and not fresh or tasty. I have stayed at this place a few times over the years but never again, I will not be gouged and taken advantage of no more I will be staying at a real four or five star hotel in thunder Bay from now on at far less cost with professional service and courteous staff Finally if you do decide to stay there do not use the pool or the gym, the pool is dated and dirty and the gym equipment is a mishmash of stuff that is dangerous and dated, most of the equipment does not work.
This motel has gone downhill fast in the last several years. Oh yes let’s not forget the drunks and drug users roaming around all night. Good luck
Dear Owner; don’t bother responding to this review with your generic statement, they are all the same which shows you do not take the time to address your guests concerns adequately. anybody can cut copy and paste and I don’t think you are honest at all. Why don’t you respond professionally and say something productive with some meaning to it.

A so called manager that calls there customers Liars is not ver well suited for there position.
Reason you couldn’t find my reservation, this was booked under my wife’s name. Not sure why you would look for it in first place? Likely to track me to try and talk me into removing my honest post.
As expected you call your customers liars. I don’t need to go on any further, shame on you for deceiving the public. We have found better and less expensive hotels to stay at during our recent trips to T Bay and you won’t be seeing us or our employees again.
