A friend and I were celebrating our Birthdays and thought a day at the SPA would be relaxing and enjoyable. The pictures advertised made everything look so wonderful and relaxing. I couldn't have been more wrong.

It was not anything as it is advertised. More then half of the SPA was not in working order and needs repair. There was water damage and stained walls from what looked like a leaky roof. There was rust and stains on the walls and the glass doors were rusty and dirty. There was two exposed holes in the ceiling where wires were dangling out. So it was not aesthetically pleasing in the least. looked like the roof was leaking water at some point. could have explained that exposed wires we could see dangling out, and rust and water damage all over the walls.

The steam room wasn't working properly because the lights weren't working. So it was very dark, and calcium build up in between the tiles was extremely noticeable and uncomfortable to sit on. Also there was absolutely no Eucalyptus in that steam room at all which was advertised there is.

The dry Sauna was nice, but it too had lights not working. So there was no lighting in that room and the speakers were also broken so it was very dark and hard to see and disappointing to know what could have been when you watch videos of what the SPA looks like.

The baths outside was the biggest disappointment. All the pools were not in working order. The front desk was very friendly, and advised they haven't been working properly for many years and can still give guests a pleasant experience if you disregard all the pools that are broken. None of the pools had their pumps and jets working and the water falls are no longer in service and have been broken and not fixed for a number of years.

The staff were kind, but the neglect of the SPA and poor maintenance was shocking. We paid full price and got less then half of what was advertised for the experience and working conditions of the SPA and Building itself.

If you want a wonderful SPA experience don't go to Cedar Meadows. The SPA has no maintenance and is severally neglected and in desperate need of repairs. To charge that much for a falling apart SPA was absolute robbery. They deny guests access to their phones and cameras while in the SPA and I suspect that is how they are able to hide all of the repairs that is needed and not been providing for their customers for years. The potential is there, but the neglect is obvious.

I didn't pay for any services, for hopefully maybe they can redeem themselves when we go back again this summer with services at that time. Not impressed at this experience today. Sad to see something that looks so beautiful be so poorly mismanaged and...

*MY WORST HOTEL EXPERIENCE EVER!

I came up here this weekend after recommendations from friends and was very disappointed with the stay.

I booked the standard queen room with the spa passes package.

I arrived at the spa and expected a robe and sandals to be provided as it is common spa practice for spas to provide that to their customers. The robe and sandals were an extra ~$15 to rent and the sandals were mandatory to have on to get in. Although the spas was nice I have to say.

My room was also next to a conference room which held a meeting at 7AM on a Sunday and we were not informed to expect excessive noise. The clerk we spoke to at check out stated it is very unusual for a meeting to be happening on a Sunday while another staff member told me it had happened the last few Sunday’s and it’s not uncommon practise for that to happen.

We had a very rude awakening due to carts and service staff setting up and chatting outside our door while I was sleeping! I asked them to stop the noise and they we unapologetic and continued. Then a large gang of conference attendees arrived and the noise next to my room was unbearable. It ruined my sleep and morning to the point where I just wanted to get the hell out of there immediately!

The room itself is outdated and not secure as the picture indicates. The lock for the sliding door is broken so there is a bar in place as “security” to ensure others cannot enter the room.

The walls are very thin to the point of been so disturbing. Not only can one hear guests in the hallways and the room next to you but also heard the guest upstairs urinating in the toilet (believe it or not).

The bed itself had cheap, rough polyester sheets and comforter, and had only 2 cheap pillows. Even cheaper motels offer at least 4 pillows for Double or Queen beds that are cotton.

The bathroom does not have individual soap bars and shampoo bottles, as others hotels do. The soaps are located in a pump dispenser in the shower, which seems unsanitary because you don’t know who’s handled the dispensers or when they were last cleaned.

The food in the restaurant is not worth the prices. You are better off going to a local greasy diner than to dine at the hotel restaurant. I ordered the 2 eggs over easy with toast and bacon. The toast was overly dry and the eggs were not over easy (1 runny uncooked, the other hard as rubber). How does a cook make two eggs like this in the same pan???

I expected more from this resort and spa but was very disappointed. The fee they charge is not worth the quality for the food or the stay. They should be ashamed of themselves with offering such low standards that even the cheapest Motel 6 doesn’t even stoop to. Don’t be fooled...

Nice location, very scenic with wild animals surrounding the resort. We went for an overnight romantic getaway. Booked the Nordic Spa pkg. Phone booking was great, they gave us a discount on the price when asked however, the service counter didn’t know much about the anemities and the nature walk I heard about so we didn’t go on one. The beds were old, springs and wires felt with a hand. Tub was narrow and slippery, thank goodness for the hand rail. The spa needs some upgrades. They said there was boiler issues but after reading other reviews I’m not sure that’s true. Luke warm water in the hot pool with no lights and jets. They later turned the fountain off to put the jets on to add more luke warm water after others complained. Oh, my partner just got comfortable in the warm pool when the attendant asked him to step out so she could put chlorine in the pool, then cleaned out the bugs; something that should have been done before guests arrived I think! The steam room was beautiful and hot, loved it but wish there was a place to rest my head. The sauna was nice but awkward and dangerous to climb on the bench to walk around the sauna which sat in the middle of the room with no handles to get up and the railing was hot that served as a protective barrier around the sauna. We were told the pkg included the Nordic Spa and breakfast; however we were given only 1 pass each for the spa so we couldn’t just come and go or go again in the morning. There’s an extra charge for housecoats and slippers. Also given a $20 coupon off breakfast so had to pay $16 ontop of the coupon. The waiter was very polite and attentive! My breakfast was poached eggs and yogurt with rye bread, very good. Partner got the skillet with one egg and it was mostly potatoes and one small cut up sausage with I chopped mushroom, onions and pepper. Not that great he said. The bar / dining area was beautiful but we were not aware that we could visit the bar as no one told us the amenities. Most likely will not return, not worth the $265 we...

There’s no doubt about this experience being a *must do*. Treat yourself and loved ones to an ultra special evening, night and morning with these magnificent wolves. 🥰 The cabins are equipped with a queen size bed in the bedroom (heated windows all around bringing the wolves nice and close during colder days) and a big pull out couch in the living space (not in the same window room as the bedroom and wolves environment). You can hear the wolves throughout the cabin if you get so lucky to have them howl during your stay and/or barking and playing with one another. We’d gladly stay over and over again if we could afford it. Thankfully we live in Timmins so one night at the hotel was all that was needed but for those from out of town who would like to experience this without breaking the bank; you can book one night with the wolves and move indoors to the beautiful hotel for additional nights. There you can experience the serenity of spa Grande Nature where they have Nordic baths (enjoy going from hot to cold to room temperature). Relax in the outdoor pools, hot tub & sitting out by a nice fire; sauna, steam room (my personal favourite), enjoy the relaxation room with a much needed snooze or enjoy tea, looking out the windows and/or read a book. The hotel restaurant “Le Voyageur” is delicious place to eat with pleasant staff and finally don’t forget the Wildlife animal tour that goes out around the rest of their property to see various animals in their habitat at 3pm daily. 💞💞💞 Biggest thank you to the Lafleur family for bringing such unique experience to our hometown. The love for animals and guests is seen and felt all around at this wonderful (not so hidden) gem!💎 😉

We just got back from this resort and it was amazing! We stayed 3 nights in the hotel part of the resort and then 1 night sleeping with the wolves. We stayed in an executive junior suite with Jacuzzi and fireplace. It was an amazing suite. Everything was in good working order, comfortable beds, loved the duel shower heads. Only issue was the room card didn’t seem to want to work very well. Our night sleeping with the wolves was amazing, the cabins are beautiful. Love the ultramatic bed , very nice to sit up and watch the wolves. The wolves were extremely active, so don’t worry that you won’t see them. We used their gym facility which wasn’t big but had mostly everything we needed for a light workout, and was clean. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. We went to the restaurant in the hotel for dinner and breakfast, food was delicious and service was amazing. A little pricey though but worth it. The spa was great, although small, for the price we enjoyed a nice few relaxing hours there including lunch. My only complaint is that robes should be included for the cost. I think $12 for a robe rental was a little excessive.
