We paid $140 for a room with two queens for two adults and two children. We were in Slave Lake to visit a sick relative. All the other hotels were fully booked. First room we were showed smelled like wet dog and there were stains and burns in the bed covers. The second room was a little better, but this hotel needs an overhaul. The rooms aren’t clean enough. The attention to detail is lacking. The sink in the bathroom took far too long to drain the water. The air-con was so loud it woke us up every time it came on. The carpet by the kitchenette was sticky.

DON’T STAY HERE … Dirty furniture with stains .. you can imagine what they might be .. pictures don’t do it justice. Had a reservation .. checked two rooms and asked for my money back and went elsewhere .. gal at the front apologized and mentioned that none of the rooms have had furniture cleaned so .. basically good luck … gross!!!!!!

If you plan on staying here makebsure the local glass shop has windows for your vehicles. The local heads hang out in the parking lot and smash windows out of vehicles for fun because they didn't take anything 2 windows in separate vehicles one a 6 day period. Avoid this hotel if you can. Update I also found bed bugs

Big Lake Inn was much more than I expected of an inn. I thought i was going to get that musty, questionable sort of place and room that is filled with cigarette smoke, but it was quite the opposite. The lobby was clean and so were the rooms, and in the room I got was an added feature of not only a mini fridge, but also a microwave, a kitchen sink, a cook top with a vent hood, pots and pans, plates, cups, etc. They also had a coffee machine with complimentary coffee, sugar, creamers etc., they even provided a kettle for your use. The carpet in the room wasn't dingy at all and the bathroom was clean and immaculate. They thought of everything that you could possibly need while traveling and I would definitely stay there again and recommend to anyone who happens to be in the Slave Lake area. Just an FYI, I don't think each room comes equipped with an entire setup for cooking your own meals etc., this may be something you ask for specifically when reserving your stay. I think I just got lucky because that was the...

Enroute to Fort Mc Murray from BC, had to do some work in this town and booked a room because one, their rates, and two, I have stayed in this hotel once in the past. The rooms are spacious too and the bathroom is clean but the use of darker towels in the washroom - probably just not used to it cause it looks not so clean even if it may be. they also have suites with kitchenettes, which could be an important consideration considering the circumstances that we're forced to be in because of the C19. It's what I was booking for but there's nothing available. Overall, the stay is ok primarily because of their internet - it's high speed and fast which is very important for my work at the end of the day. The location is also good, right in the heart of the town's commercial area steps away to, restos, groceries, gas station, a car wash, and other shops. The bagged breakfast is surprisingly good. Hot breakfast in this hotel is also good when they were still serving hot...

My wife and I stay her quite frequently, for business as well as pleasure. We love staying here the staff are so attentive, anything you need they will do the best to get it for you. Rooms are always clean & it’s nice to be able to make a small meal in your room if you want to.....definitely a bonus.||The manager at the front desk Karlene is awesome, very friendly & personable! We have been there when people haven’t been very pleasant & she kept her cool & did everything to fix the situation never getting angry & always smiling... don’t know how she does it but her boss is lucky to have her. Whenever you are in Slave Lake you should try them out... won’t be...
