I had my wedding at La Casa Mirador on May 28th, 2022. I am a bit late posting a review because I was emailing back and forth with Wendy and Dikran in hopes that there would be some sort of compensation for the horrible experience we had with La Casa, but no such luck! La Casa is a self serve venue, but you pay for a wedding package which is supposed to include tables, table cloths, ballroom chairs, chair covers, cutlery, and plates. I prepared all of my rentals based on the fact that La Casa would be holding up their end of the contract with supplying these items. To our shock and disgust, we opened up the table cloth and chair cover bins. There were only TWO round table cloths and we had 9 round tables. We were short 7. There were other table cloths, but these did not fit the tables properly and were obviously meant for some other kind of table. La Casa was adamant that they were the correct kind, when obviously they were not, considering they had 2 tables cloths that actually DID fit. The chair coverings were absolutely disgusting, most ripped, wrinkled, and some even had what looked like BLOOD on them! I was so upset because this was the night before our wedding, and we were not able to set up due to this. We were trying to get ahold of the staff at La Casa in hopes that this bin of table cloths and chair coverings were supposed to belong in the garbage, and that they had the proper equipment somewhere else. They were able to find a second bin of less damaged chair coverings, but they still were not very good quality. As for the table coverings, we were SOL. I really do not know why they charge a wedding fee if they don't even hold up their end of the contract by providing what they say they will. My wedding coordinator was able to call in some favours and get a rental store to rent us some tablecloths last minute in Kelowna. Luckily, she picked these up for us, otherwise that would have been another huge inconvenience the night before the wedding. This cost me an extra $341 in rentals just because La Casa did not provide what they said they would provide. When speaking with the owner and manager, they tried to cast blame on the wedding coordinator saying she should have made a site visit in advance. She did in fact make a sight visit in advance, but the table cloths/chair coverings were not shown to her as no one could unlock the storage room. La Casa refused to compensate us any money for the extra rentals we had to get, and they also refused to give us a discount on the wedding package even though they did not have the proper supplies they claimed they would have. None of the glasses were clean and prepped to use for the wedding. We were running dishloads and dishloads of glassware, cutlery, and plates the night before as well so that they were clean for the guests. I REALLY don't understand the point in La Casa's massive cleaning fee if you get there and have to clean everything yourself before it is in presentable condition. Although La Casa is located in a beautiful spot, the amount of stress and extra work you need to do on top of a substantial fee and stress of dealing with these unforeseen problems, I would NOT RECOMMEND LA CASA MIRADOR. PLEASE save yourself the extra stress. They don't have any of what would be deemed acceptable and appropriate for a day as important as a Wedding, you will have to clean everything yourself, and if anything goes wrong, the staff will not help or compensate you for your troubles. Wendy, the owner, and Dikran, the manager, had no accountability for anything that happened. They tried to justify the problems by saying they moved some of the patio furniture back to where it was staged, which took all of 15 minutes. ( We had not asked them to do this.. ) Brides and Grooms, please BEWARE if you are considering this location. My wedding coordinator is also not recommending the venue anymore after our experience. Please save yourself the extra stress and money and steer clear of this venue for...
Read moreThis house is beautiful, the location is perfect and offers everything you need to have an amazing vacation. My sister had her wedding in the guest house last weekend and while the wedding was beautiful and our guests had fun, I would not easily recommend using this house for an important event. The house boasts many amenities including a 120 person movie theatre. My sister was the most excited about this feature, she rented a popcorn machine and bought popcorn and candy to host a movie night before her wedding day. We also planned to use the theatre to show a slideshow during the wedding. The instructions seemed simple enough to use the machine so I went down early to test it before we got everyone settled for the movie. I was able to easily connect my laptop to the screen and used the touch screen to make sure the apps worked for the movie. However after running the slideshow for ten minutes the system shut off and would not play any longer. The screen said the projector bulb was burnt out. So, I called the manager of the house and they did not give us any other option to fix it other than that they would be there the next morning. It is in my opinion that if you have guests paying $11,000 to stay in a house that the "manager" should at least check to see that every thing in the house worked. The next morning the "manager" was incredibly rude to my aunt and simply would not believe me about what I saw happen in the theatre. They thought everything was fine. Then they told my dad that it was me that broke the bulb (even though I had no code to get into the projector room where the bulb was located). Finally a man went in and realized they were wrong and told me exactly what I had said was wrong in the first place. Not only were they rude but they didn't even apologize for being wrong and wasting my time in the first place. They did not compensate us for the popcorn machine and food we got for the movie but they did give us the use of our golf course for free. I felt very frustrated trying to deal with that during the wedding day while I was getting ready and being made to feel stupid when I knew exactly what was wrong (sometimes women do know something about technology). They also did not replace toilet paper or give us any idea where any extra might be during the four days of our stay. In the end I would consider going back. But I warn anyone that decides to rent this house to stand up for themselves and hold true to what they deserve. You should get what you pay for and you should be treated with respect when someone else is in the wrong. Before the manager leaves make sure everything in the...
Read moreThe family had booked the La Casa Mansion at the Resort for a wedding. We found the owner very friendly and highly accommodating.
The mansion itself was very spacious. On the Main Floor there was a Bar, with a Conference Room we used for the reception party (Danced all night here after the Wedding!). This was located next to a full Movie Theater where we could have seated the whole wedding party to watch movies or play games (It was Epic!). On the next floor was the Bunk House. It had about 5 beds plus a pull out couch in a common room, with a shared bathroom, and a makeup room. On the second floor it had a full size kitchen, with 4 fridges that accommodated all of our food needs. This was the floor I stayed on, it had two common sitting areas with full deck access with spectacular views. There were 4 bedrooms with 7 beds total, and full size M/F washrooms with access to a washer and dryer. This was the floor we spent some of the most time on and the one where we hosted the reception dinner with the bride & groom's first dance. Finally the top floor is where the bride & groom stayed in a penthouse style Master Bedroom, with a rooftop view that was spectacular. There was one more Bedroom on the top floor next to the stairs so there was ample room for everyone. We often hung out with the core family on the roof top at the end of the night enjoying the hot tub and beautiful view.
Our entire family, and all of our guests raved about how much fun our 3 Day stay was and we'd all highly recommend booking this venue. It was perfect for the wedding, but we could see it being a great fit for any event.
A lot of pictures were taken, I'll come back to this review later and update it with more...
