I stayed here for 4 nights and each day something else went wrong. For starters, the owner runs the airport shuttle (blue van and german looking Chilean man with mustache) and tries to pressure and trick you into staying at his hostel. He tried to charge me twice what he charged others until I found out and called him out on it. This place has the worst beds imaginable- I slept on a thermarest every night. Second, the hot water doesn´t work at all some mornings and there is both mold and TONS of paint chips falling from the ceiling when the shower runs (paint chips in your hair everyday). The computer in the front room is a facade to make you think there is computer- internet access- it doesn´t even have a power cord much less the ability to do anything! The phone up front is also a fake that does nothing. The ¨cooler¨or wine and beer is left unpluuged next to a wood stove at all times to save energy so don´t think it is reallyu plugged in.|| The breakfast is the leftover bread from the owner´s grocery store in the central ¨circle¨of Puerto Williams and a bowl of jam that gets left uncovered on the table all night, everynight and gets put in the fridge uncovered all day with lots of old, rotten food. They put the same, more than a month expired package of ¨dulce de leche¨ in front of me and others for the entire time I was there before and after my hike until someone who didn´t know better ate it. I could go on and on, but the owner is basically trying to squeeze every dime out of you while putting up all kinds of facades that one by one fall like a...
Read moreA fantastic experience all around. Rooms were comfortable and very clean, with attached bathroom, and nice bonuses like a heated towel rack. All staff were very friendly and helpful, especially the owner, who was very kind and suggested many things to do on the island. The hotel was also very flexible about our arrival, which ended up a day later than expected because of ferry delays, and the owner came to pick us up from the ferry terminal when we got in at 2:00 in the morning! The included breakfast was great, with a wide array of options, and the breakfast room is open all day if you want more snacks or a coffee. The owner even told us to feel free to make lunch sandwiches from the breakfast food to take on a home! The location is close to everything in Puerto Williams given the size of the town, and we found it surprisingly easy to get around and do things without a car. You can rent bicycles directly from the hotel to explore further afield, or there are several hikes and walks you can go on directly from the hotel. Overall this stay has been the high point of our month-long trip, and we recommend...
Read moreThe room and beds were fine, however the service from the staff was not great. The owners were often absent and did not mention we would not be able to have hot water unless they were there to turn it on...||||The kitchen was rather poorly stocked. Breakfast consisted of bread, cookies, instant coffee, and some very sugary juice. The bathrooms were pretty clean, but the showers were dirty and did not function great.||||Aside from myself and my girlfriend in a private room, there were many construction workers staying in their dorm; however, the workers were not given breakfast and the owners generally treated them rudely, making us wonder about how they run the business in general.||||Overall, it was not a terrible experience, but also not somewhere...
