The only good thing abouth this hotel is its location. ||About the problems: I’ll start with the room. I am partly to blame because we started organizing the trip a little late: the best options weren't available anymore and the prices were super high. Additionally, as I live in Colombia, I was sure the prices were showed in colombian pesos (but they were in dollars, 3 times higher than expected).||So, the fact is that this hotel charges 520 dollars a day for the worst room I've ever stayed. I’ve stayed in ski resorts in the US that don’t charge that much and the service and room canno even compare to this one. They tell you the room "El Pinar" fits 3 or 4 people (one small full-bed and one bunk-bed). It happens you have to occupy the bunk-bed with your luggage, because the room is much smaller than it appears to be in the photos. The bathroom is a whole other problem (almost impossible to take a shower in it, so small the shower area is).||They offer breakfast and dinner included (no beverages, you even pay for water), but both of them are really ordinary, few options and the food is bland. It is a shame because there are no other options in the area.||If you plan to stay there even though you’ve read this report, don't stay in the room "El Pinar" (it was the one we stayed, the only one with no balcony, almost no natural light, small bathroom and the most expensive because it supposedly “fits 4 people”, even though we have...
Read moreWe spent a week at Chalet Valluga while skiing the local resorts. We were treated like family by the incredibly attentive owners and staff. Cozy and comfortable, the hotel is nestled in Farellones which is practically ski-in and ski-out for El Colorado resort. It is also about a 7 min drive to La Parva (our favorite of the three) and 30 min to Valle Nevado (road conditions permitting). The owners were always available for any needs and questions we had during our visit. They were a joy to chat with about everything and anything. We had to change plans twice due to airline problems and then due to the weather, and we were accommodated without any issues. Breakfast and dinner are included with your stay, and that was huge because there are really just a couple of restaurants in town. Chilean wine, beer and cocktails served at the hotel are delicious. The hot tub is perfect for sunsets, so definitely reserve your spot. We are seasoned skiiers and come for the snow, and this place was absolutely perfect for us to leave the comfort of home skiing in the US and...

Dorin and Havier have built the most charming oasis in the heart of Farellones.
With breakfast and dinners included in our stay, we didn’t have to worry much about where to find food, but there are plenty of restaurants within walking distance from the chalet!
You are within a 10 minute drive to both El Colorado, and La Parva, with Valle Nevado 30 mins away.
Shuttles are available from the Chalet to each resort, and Dorin happily organized each day!
The sunsets are truly spectacular, especially from the hot tub, with a glass of vino!
Overall our entire stay was stress-free, and we felt very spoiled!
