Not a great location for people without a car, but it has a great view and surroundings. There is nothing around the guest house-no restaurant or shop, a car is necessary if you stay there||The owner is Libanese, a friendly man and very good in english. ||A girl who work with him show us to our room upstairs, but she only speak spanish||The room need some renovations especially the floor. We had a spacious room, but there aren't much furniture except a chair, table and a closet, we had a fridge inside our room, but no television||Free wifi isn't work good||The bathroom is somewhat dirty, but it has a good shower with hot water||A huge communal terrace outside with picnic table, but seems we're the only guest in this building we had the place ourselves. From here we have a nice view to the vineyard||The surrounding of the house is messy, if looking at it from the outside you don't know where to get in. This place needs an organized. Is a pity the house can be nice if this clean around it||Breakfast included, but I see the kitchen is so messy we leave without breakfast.||The price per night for a room is 47$ dollar no tax in Vicuna, is affordable price but they need more cleaning and renovating the rooms...
Read moreThis hostel (which feels more like a B&B) reminded me so much of my family house where I grew up in Greece! It felt like home from the first day. Richard, the owner is such a welcoming and warm person, interesting, full of stories about his life (I loved having conversations with him!). The place is well cared, clean, with comfy beds and the most amazing breakfast ever!! This hostel is famous in the area for its breakfast! :-) Richard makes homemade jams, proper natural yogurt and bread! We were spoiled these days! We stayed with a friend for four nights and we had such a nice time!! ||||It is somehow in the middle of nowhere, next to vineyards, but for this reason I loved it so much! There are buses running frequently and there is a bus stop just 5min walk from the hostel.||For people who want to be close to shops and restaurants close to the town in general.In walking distance, this is not the place. But for people who want to relax and explore the nature around is an amazing place! ||Valle de Elqui is a beautiful and indeed a mystical place! Richard I hope I manage to come back one day! Read moreI tell you the truth: i'm a backpacker who is traveling for more than 2 years in a row. Sometimes i couch surf, more often i stay in hostel. Basicly always the cheapest. So, it happened that I decided to stay a couples of day in Elqui Valley and I found this amazing place. You have to know, it is in the middle of nowhere, so if u want to be in peace and quiet enjoying the nature this is the place to go. 5 mins walk there is a river, all around you can walk and do stunning trekking. ||It was the best welcome I had in my life, the girls welcomed me with a big smile offering a coffee or a fresh made juice. I felt at home immediately. The owner is a great man with a lot of story. Really kind and respectful. He lives there so he takes care of the place. Beautiful garden, great view and the best breakfast ever!!!
