Horrible experience at this place. Me and my partner have lived in the US and traveled a lot to many countries in the world and have never felt treated like at Luz Del Valle. We've been backpacking for 2 months in South America and like to leave positive reviews about the places we like. This is the first time we leave a bad review and we just want to advice future guests to go somewhere else at Elqui Valley.
Let me explain the situation, they only let you pay with cash and online transfer but because the wifi doesn't work, your only option is pay with cash. We didn't have enough cash and Michel treated us like delinquents. He let us use his computer and because wifi was so slow it took longer to log in on our Bank of America account, he came and told us to leave the computer immediately when we were making the transfer insinuating we were trying to steal his bank account information.
The whole situation was a nightmare, we were both crying and feeling very unsafe. He yelled that he will call the "carabineros", which means police in Spanish from Chile. Michel shouldn't host people, his attitude was unacceptable. This is the worst experience we've had traveling. Luz Marina apologized but kept saying: "it's not my fault" like if it wasn't her business what happened inside her hostal with her husband.
On top of that, they had a lot more issues: the pool was closed, water broke for hours in the morning and we couldn't shower, wifi doesn't work or if it did very slow.
Only positive about the stay was: the lady who served breakfast and the many animals they have.
There are a lot of places in The Valley to enjoy your stay. I don't recommend this...

Read moreIt is a place B & B, which speaks Spanish , English and French ( the hosts are from Belgium) ; with 4 bedrooms (three with shared bathroom and a private bath ) . They have great view from the upstairs room and parking for one vehicle by bedroom, if you need more is conversable. It can be reached by car or public transport. The climate fluctuates during the year between spring and summer Mediterranean , they forgot that means winter. They have an exquisite pool for a B & B, free range eggs they produce . the breakfasts are delicious and varied with delicatessen of the zone and very rare to find in Chile, such as a lucuma almonds dark syrup or homemade papaya's jam. The breakfasts are taken in a gorgeus and beautifully decorated pergola.||Michel and Luz Marina hosts, whenever they see you, they talk with you and ask how are you and if you need anything, very attentive and always with an anecdote or story to tell. They also make recommendations on which places to visit , indeed, They made me a custom map of the places that interested me to see , where to buy souvenirs , craft beer and Pisco high quality and low price , plus the factory tour ( with tastings ).||I will...
