I usually don't write reviews for hotels since most hotels I have stayed at are perfectly fine, or at least acceptable. This was not the case with this hotel. My daughter and I stayed there as part of a package for the Great Wall of China marathon. The first 3 nights it was 80 degrees in the room, and complaints to the staff were to no avail. Most of the staff do not speak anything other than Chinese and make no attempt to be helpful at all. There was one person who had the translator app on their phone. The wifi was so terrible that I couldnt even use the wifi to attempt to communicate. It finally got somewhat fixed for the 4th night. We tried to eat in the tiny little chinese restuarant but were told "chinese only". They only server Chinese people? What!! || We didn't realize it at first but when you put your towels in the laundry, they don't clean or replace them, they just hang them back up. Our coffee pot exploded so we had a towel full of coffee stains, and they just took it out of the basket and put it back on the counter. That was when we realized they were just using our towels over and over. At the end of the stay when we were checking out they had the audacity to charge us for stained towels. I've never in my life been charged for a towel in any hotel.||If you like nice accomodations at any hotel, do not stay here. There are plenty of nicer...
Read moreWe stayed here 3 nights as part of an Australian tour deal (TripADeal). Good location, it is a block away from Guangqumenwai Station (subway line 7) and if you turn left from the lobby door about 800m there are a series of good local restaurants. If you turn right from the lobby door and go walking a block over you will find a 7/11, cafes and Ozzie’s pub. This is an Australian bar with good value cold beer and steaks. Steve at Ozzie’s will give you the low-down on information. The hotel itself is good, large size rooms, good bathrooms, helpful staff, wine bar in the lobby, buffet breakfast. It is a 3-4 star hotel, not the Park Hyatt, and that is reflected in the price. Between mid November to March the rooms are centrally heated and warm, the window in the bedroom and bathroom do open however. Good linen. Wifi was good but if you need everything on your smart phone, including google translator and google maps, then you will need to download a VPN before you leave home. Good...
Read moreWe stayed here for 4 nights as part of a Trip-A-Deal tour. The breakfast was varied & plenty of it with Asian & Western offerings, lobby area spacious & there is a lobby bar offering beer or soft drink. The staff have minimal English however they do their best to make you feel very welcome. The bedroom and the bathroom are very spacious, and even though they are a little dated and a bit worn, there are plenty of amenities, with Slippers & Dressing gowns too! I really enjoyed staying here. There are a number of places to eat on the left side of the Hotel (going out of the Hotel) & a beautiful Coffee shop across the road on the right, with 2 convenience store down the same road that sell, snacks, Beer & WINE! Overall a very...
