This is my first ever tripadvisor review and I rarely spend my time doing these things, but after my recent overnight I felt I had to balance the perspective of the last couple reviews.||||I found Airport Garden while I was looking for a place to sleep during a 10 hour overnight layover in PEK. After reading the reviews here I nearly canceled my reservation. I am glad I did not.||||No, there were no "masseuses" loitering in the hallways. The room temperature was appropriate, though I grant it was neither hot nor cold outside. Being somewhat concerned about my pickup not appearing, I did send a message to Ctrip immediately prior to departure to remind them.||||I was promptly met by a hotel representative holding a sign with my name right in the baggage claim area. She promptly ushered me to the shuttle. I did not have to claim my bags, and the total time from gate to my room was 40 minutes - quite good, really.||||The lobby was large if not particularly attractive. The check-in was straightforward. The hallways were dark. ||||The room was average in size and for my needs I only wish the bed were softer.||||For an 8:30 am departure the hotel reception asked me to catch the 6:00 am shuttle. Being a Sunday morning, this might have been earlier than necessary but I had time for a good breakfast in the Air China First Class lounge and did not get to partake of the Airport Garden breakfast. They had a breakfast boxed to go, if I wanted it.||||The shuttle left promptly at 6:00am, somewhat more punctual than I was expecting. I was cutting it close and I received first a phone call and then a visit from the hotel staff to make sure I made the shuttle.||||Overall, the experience was quite satisfactory and I would probably use it again in a similar situation, unless accommodations were available within the...
Read moreI stayed at this hotel for one night and picked it because of its proximity to the airport. If you phone the hotel they will pick you up from the airport. However it was clear once we arrived that things were not quite as nice as the website and brochure suggests.||||Our path to our room took us under an archway dripping with water. There were buckets dotted around to catch the water but they weren't doing much good. ||||Despite asking for a double room when we arrived we found the room was a twin. We went back through the leaky archway to the reception and we were very rudely told that they had no double rooms and there was nothing they could do.||||The beds in our room were uncomfortable, the decór was faded and the carpet was stained. We also discovered that there was no hot water. We called reception and they sent someone, who confirmed there was no hot water and said that we needed to change rooms. ||||We were told that we would be upgraded, but the room was identical to the last - a dirty twin room with no hot water and toiletries half opened.||||After complaining to the people behind the desk we were told there was nothing they could do and after demanding a lower price to compensate they offered a better room. It was late at night and we had a flight early in the morning so we did not wish to switch again, especially since they weren't helping with our bags. They did however arrange a free bus to the airport at a time before they usually start shipping their residents. The restaurant was actually OK, although service was slow. ||||Apart from its proximity to the airport there's nothing good about its location. There's nothing to see in the local area. ||||I'd find another hotel if I ever had to spend a night in Beijing before a flight again. The staff were rude and the rooms were dirty...
Read moreWe were to return from LA to India via China. After aday's halt at Beijing , our flight was to Shanghai & hence we wanted to be close to the Airport. In sub 100 usd very limited choices near the Airport , so we homed on this Hotel. It is about 3-4 Kms away from the Airport & not 05 mins , as claimed by the Hotel.Keep almost 20-30 mins for the transfer.||We arrived in Beijing at about 0545 hours & hence it was pretty cold, the room too also was cold & the airconditioner took its own time to heat up the room. The Hotel promised a pick up but nothing was available. I suppose it was too early for them. he good thing was that they permitted early check in without any extra payment. I am told they charge extra definitely for late check out.||It is a big hotel with nearly 400 odd rooms but it is not 3star as claimed by them. Very basic sort of room & comparable bathroom.||On checking in they demanded one full days' charges, which was a trifle irksome & also amounted to getting a few dollars converted to Yuans at very unreasonable rates.|The view from the room was not worth opening the curtains.|The biggest problem was language. Only one at the reception could understand & speak & that too with lot of difficulty. But they tried to be helpfull as best as they could.| Good part is proximity to the Airport, permitting early check in, & free transfer to...
