This hotel is centrally located. Take exit 4 from fowin square metro and walk up the hill past Pizza Hut and then walk up the ramp to the hotel. I booked the "Fowin Hotel" on Ctrip so was somewhat confused that the Vienna International Hotel actually was the Fowin. There's one behind it also called the Vienna which I mistakenly visited first. Staff were kind enough to guide me back to the right building. The building is the same as the China Agricultural Bank Building (the sign is on top) and some of the floors are office space. ||When you check in make sure you get them to type the wifi username and password in your phone. It wasn't anywhere to be found in my room. The receptionist spoke some English but not all do. ||I was on floor 22. The room was small but fine for a solo traveller. I had some issues with my shower flooding (the drain had some filter in it which I removed but the water pressure was just too much for the drain and the door wasn't a proper seal). Traffic noise was pretty bad although I suspect that is the case in the city centres of most Chinese cities. If honking horns bother you, perhaps try somewhere more soundproofed. Air conditioning ran the entire time I was there and was nice to have a cool room to come back to. ||Breakfast was ok. Chinese meal only. You could get the traditional noodle soup with your choice of ingredients or there was vegetables and other bits and pieces in heated containers which were good. ||This hotel is right near (30m) Carrefour (giant supermarket) which is great for supplies. The metro is close and only one stop to WuLing Square which has great shopping and the pedestrian mall. Three stops to Orange Island (橘子洲). ||Overall, simple and clean and was cheap and centrally located. Not five stars, probably more like 3 but I stayed 2 nights...
Read moreOlder hotel. I stayed at this hotel in Feb. during the spring festival and it was ok. I decided to stay again during the National day in October. The temperature was hot but the hotel would turn off the AC in the middle of the day regardless of the heat. It was miserable. I voiced my opinion several times but it was useless, they were not going to turn it on. In Feb. the hot water in the shower worked but it took 15 minutes for the hot water to reach my floor. In October the hot water never reached my room. I expect it was turned off as well. The included breakfast was terrible. In October, after the first day and night I decided to cancel the remaining reservation and spend a little more money and go to the Dolton Hotel. Best move I ever made. ||||The Good - Great location. Next to Pizza Hut (everyone knows where that is in Changsha). Close to shopping, food and the big wheel as my friend calls it. ||||Summary - Spend some extra money and stay somewhere else. The Dolton is a...
Read moreThe location is for business & pleasure. Close to public transport! Communication in English could be better, but people around there will help. Very friendly atmosphere, it is clean, neat, quirky (old Vienna / Austria styled), good value for money. Not all rooms have windows, but are climate controlled. Most windows open to the court yard or to a pedestrian zone Nice in-house restaurant with good food & service also with several private dining rooms if needed for business meetings. A bakery is just around the corner for daily fresh bread & cake with coffee or tea on offer - it opens at 8:00am. Underground car parking and access to an under street shopping complex. Hard to find there on Wuyi Square anything like it for such a...
