I stayed at 4P Anren for a class reunion on weekend. As a platinum member, I was upgraded to the Deluxe Suite with a nice balcony overlooking the hotel garden. The room was very clean, and the decoration is decent. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom is very spacious with separate shower and toilet. This hotel is much better than other 4Ps, and is even on a par with the Sheratons.
The hotel was packed over the weekend due to the warm weather, and so there was no extra comforter left when I called at night. The service staff was very sorry over the phone and sent some extra bath towels to the room. Nevertheless, the hotel should prepare more comforters, or at least some blankets, in case such situation occurs again.
The hotel offers complimentary wifi to all guests. The speed was OK for domestic use, but not for VPN.
My friends and I did not eat at the hotel since there were many local restaurants in the ancient town of Anren. We did have a very good full breakfast at the Eatery featuring a la carte noodle stand and Danish dessert. It was far beyond my expectation and definitely a fantastic platinum arrival gift. I ordered noodle with braised beef for a friend who did not make it to the breakfast, and he said it was very authentic.

Read moreI had intended to write a bad review as there was no presence of keen service except for mundane exhibit of ordinary reception attitude.As a four point Sheraton, I would expect a little more service than lethargic display of lack-lustre attitude when serving customer.But the worse happened on my next stay when a reception staff zoe charged me rmb 499 when I had prepaid online.She convinced me that I had only preauthorised my charge and had not paid in full when I booked online.But then she realised after charging that I had indeed prepaid my booking.She promised everything will be resolved upon my check out the next morning bit nothing was accomplished.The FO Manager was another nincompoop as she had not been able to provide me with evidence thar a revoke or cancellation of the erroneous charge of rmb 499 had been processed.This is entirely unacceptable but I had little time to argue with them as I was on a tight schedule and had to leave ASAP.So I had left with FO manaher's promise that everything will be resolved when I reach Singapore.I had taken down the general manager's name which was Johny Fan (范兴宇) as I intend to write to their regional manage or director to highlight the matter if it was not resolved by the end of December.I wrote on both reviews of the gomel just to remind the hotel's management to retrain their reception staff so that future incidence is such incompetence...
