The W Chengdu exudes playfulness and sophistication. The lobby has the signature edginess of a W Hotel while being balanced with a more upscale vibe. The rooms are gorgeous—excellent layout, furnishings, and the bathroom is a sight to be seen. The breakfast has a fantastic variety of local Sichuan cuisine and western offerings. Definitely one of the best hotel breakfasts I have had, and quite possibly one of the best breakfasts in general.||While the hard product of this hotel is exceptional, the real treat is the service. From check in to check out, we were treated like family. The staff was attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond. There were several small things the staff did to make us feel at home and like we were welcomed there. The general manager, Robert, runs a great hotel—you can tell he ensures his staff is extraordinarily well-trained and is present at the hotel for guests to interact with. Viki was kind and caring, making for an excellent welcome experience upon check in. Marcus was extremely welcoming, helpful with restaurant and other local recommendations, and a very personable manager. Finally, Peri went above and beyond with her assistance in many requests we had. Peri is one of the kindest, most thoughtful, and personable hotel personnel I’ve ever met in my many hotel stays, particularly as a Bonvoy elite. She is extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and responsive. Should there be an opportunity for career advancement and she wishes to pursue it, I firmly believe she deserves any upper-management or other position and that she will excel in her career.||I cannot praise this hotel and its staff enough.
