Our stay at the Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel in Chongqing offered some lovely highlights, especially the views, but also left room for a few improvements in service consistency and upkeep.||We stayed in a high-floor room with a breathtaking view of the Yangtze River. The room was spacious and clean, offering a comfortable environment to relax in. As Radisson Rewards members, we received an upgrade in line with our status and were warmly greeted by the manager on duty upon arrival - a nice and personal touch that we appreciated. The breakfast buffet featured a diverse spread, including both local and international dishes, offering a good start to the day.||While the room was pleasant, it has clearly seen better days and would benefit from some minor refurbishments to match the hotel’s otherwise solid standard. Although we hold VIP tier status, the upgrade provided was only to the next category, which felt a bit underwhelming considering the brand's loyalty benefits. Some breakfast items were not replenished as they ran out, and about 30 minutes before the official end time, much of the buffet was already empty - something that should be better managed in a hotel of this caliber.||Despite a few service inconsistencies, we enjoyed our stay - especially the incredible river views. Thank you to the team for their hospitality and...
Read moreThis may have been the best hotel during my 1 month China trip. First of all as a radisson vip member I got full recognition of status with a very nice upgrade to one of the nicer executive rooms with river view and nespresso machine. The view was really amazing, the one in the executive lounge was even better. The lounge itself was huge but not that cosy and the free food in the evening was Chinese-only and not even very fancy. Just rice, noodles, some veggies, fruit, etc Still, I dont wanna complain. Would have been nice if they had milk with the nespresso coffee machine but those are just minor details. Staff at reception and the lounge were friendly, not all speak good english but they tried and used a translator if they couldnt. Breakfast at the restaurant was ok I would say. The western stuff was not very good (stale bread etc) but the Chinese food was great. Considering that Chongqing is not on the radar of many western travelers I would say they tried their best and the price was comparably cheap, especially if you get the upgrade to the nice rooms. metro line 10 that also goes to the airport has a close by stop (10 min walk) so even though it isnt exactly in the center of chongqing, it has a fairly good location. Would stay...
Read moreThe hotel location is perfect for tourist who want to go sightseeing in the city. There are malls closeby (walking distance if you’re athletic) and its easy to get a cab. The staff are very welcoming and accommodating to all my requests. Special shoutouts to Lanny, Lisa and Abby! They ensured I was happy for the entire duration of my stay. The restaurant served basic food options so my go-to was always eggs and bacon and pastry and a mix of asian-style cuisine. The room was rather small but cozy. I’d suggest turning off the ac if you plan on using the desk for work or you’ll be in for an unpleasant treat. The pool and recreation area is a must visit, truly the highlight of the stay for me. It hosts a swimming pool, gym, sauna and steam room. The overall experience was good and there was no language barrier issues as they all spoke English and made themselves...
