Honglongjing Hotel — Hotel in Dali City

The hotel is centrally located in Dali Ancient Town itself and is within walking distance to the major ancient town attractions and main streets. Everything about the hotel (entrance, reception, restaurant, rooms, and corridors) felt grand and posh, which isn’t common for a hotel within an ancient town. The rooms are spacious and so lovely (the hotel kindly provided an upgrade). The hotel has a balcony where you get panoramic views of the Dali Ancient Town and surrounding mountains. The hotel is located in the center of the Dali ancient town, and within walking distance to all the tourist sights within the pedestrians-only areas. The disadvantage is that vehicles are not allowed within the wall city from 8am to 8pm, so visitors need to walk a short distance (about 10 minutes) to the hotel from the nearest drop-off point. The hotel does provide pick-up service using tricycle if you make the request early during booking, and also at check-out.Rooms are quite large, tidy and comfortable. Loved everything about the hotel, except that everyone in the room can literally see what’s happening in the bathroom because it’s open plan 😅 I guess some people like that. The pool was cold and unusable, would be nice if it was heated. Apart from that, the staff were amazing to try and help with all my inquiries and crazy questions. They tried to help the best they could, even after I checked out and left DaLi. I would come back for the lovely staff.
