The overall experience at Hotel Indigo Dali Erhai was quite positive, though there were a few shortcomings worth mentioning.||Two days before our arrival, the hotel's guest service manager proactively sent a text message informing us about the weather forecast and notifying us of a complimentary room upgrade, while also inquiring about our expected arrival time - a thoughtful touch that set a good tone for our stay.||During breakfast, when restaurant manager Aimee learned we had an early flight and limited time to eat, she kindly prepared a package of rose-flavored pastries (a local specialty) for us to enjoy on our journey. This level of attentiveness was truly heartwarming.||However, there were some drawbacks. The air conditioning system seemed to malfunction, and despite the engineering department's inspection and attempted repairs, the issue wasn't fully resolved. This resulted in uncomfortably high temperatures in our room at night, even waking us up due to the heat.||Additionally, while the hotel is beautifully situated by Erhai Lake, the surrounding area lacks convenient public transportation. I would strongly recommend renting a vehicle in advance to better enjoy your trip around Dali.||Overall, the hotel has great potential with its beautiful location and attentive staff, but some operational issues need addressing to ensure a completely...
Read moreThe hotel is in great location and the room has great view with a very comfortable bathroom layout (very spacious). The only thing is that the staff at check in and check out took our money. We booked 3 rooms in total and we paid in full at check in. Despite payment with credit card, the staff asked each of us to pay extra RMN1000 per room as a deposit in cash. At check out, no damage was found and they returned our deposit but all the 3 rooms only got RMB900 back. The staff could not speak English and even we could speak a little Chinese, the communication and the explanation is not understandable why we were deducted RMB100 per room total of RMB300 on top of the full payment. Other hotels will just block the credit card as deposit which is standard but when I asked if they can just use credit card that we paid to block the deposit, they said it could not be done. Moreover, when we paid RMB3000 deposit for 3 rooms, we counted RMB100 x30 to the staff. The staff took the money to another location saying they had to use the machine to count, then she came back saying there was only RMB2900. I guess she also took another RMB100 from the cash deposit. (Check in time was on April 10 at 10.30pm and check out time was on April...
Read moreHotel Indigo Erhai in Dali Yunnan is so amazing. The second time I stay at this brand, again a stopover destination.
The room is again stylishly spacious, and gives a premium feel. The staff are helpful and we feel welcomed. Indeed people in Dali are energetic and open to talk to tourists. At first I did not expect too interesting of the place, but jotted down Xizhou Ancient Town and another one.
I was referred to the Concierge in-charge by the frontdesk when exploring attractions. It was like 10pm! I asked about ferry rides in the lake (which is huge). The officer proposed I ride a car to little further down Xizhou village and buy our tickets prior (board at Jinguisi pier). Then visit Xizhou for Bai ethnic culture, and try Garden Restaurant at Baocheng Mansion over there. Chinese name of the garden is Xilinyuan.
The mansion of Yan families is nicely maintained. We enjoyed the Bai cuisine so much. We returned to Guanxi pier at south side of Erhai. It is a reasonable cruise, of high value ¥142 per person.
The breakfast of Indigo is always delightful. I highly recommend it.
Although the complex of Indigo Erhai is not as magnificent as the one at Inuyama. It is a great...
