Hotel Indigo Dali Erhai — Hotel in Dali City

We went to Dali to celebrate my mother's 85th birthday; I had heard that Dali has excellent climate all year round, and we wanted to get away from the summer heat in August.

The hotel went beyond our expectations in many ways, including: giving us a wonderful room with a lovely view of Erhai Lake; waking up every morning to the panaromic view of Erhai Lake reminded me of going on an ocean cruise; letting us have access to the room early (i.e., before 12 pm), as our flight arrived at Dali at around 7 am, and all we had to do was go for breakfast while Housekeeping prepared the room; giving my mother a complementary birthday cake on her birthday, and surprising us with beautiful rose petal and towel arrangements on our bed (just like how some ocean cruise does it).

There were other surprises too, but I won't mention them here as I don't want to encourage unrealistic expecatations on the part of future guests at the hotel.

The hotel itself has a beautiful gym, swimming pool (both with views of Erhai Lake), a beautiful lounge, and located within a 20 minute taxi ride of the airport. It's also a 30 minute ride to the ancient town of Dali, and the mountain range (with temples and convents).

Everyone at the hotel are super nice. I'm sorry I can't give specific names (maybe staff could wear name badges?), but the reception, concierge, restaurant, gym and housekeeping staff were all super nice.

It was definitely the worse experience ever happened to me in a hotel. The guy in the reception could even do his job, he lied to me about the availability of the room. Even the girl called from the hotel one day earlier, I told her everything that we need and the time we will arrive. They still could provide us the rooms we needed. They should...
