My experience of this hotel was absolutely horrific. Upon arrival , having a coffee in the lobby I was approached by a man who handed me his phone demanding that I translate the text for him showing on the screen. He was showing me a multi page random document detailing terms and conditions. He grew increasingly aggressive and impatient when I tried to explain to him that I was unable to translate the document to Chinese. I was at the time desperately looking for some hotel staff or security to intervene - however none were available. After the shock of this instance , I went to my room. The room itself was fine. However it did not take long for me to realise how thin the walls were. I was trying to get some sleep as a conversation was taking place in the next room, it was honestly as if they were in the bed next to me talking. Not really what you want when up for work the next day. The thinness of the walls also came into play when I realised my room was actually stinking of smoke !!! Cigarette smoke from the adjoining room was passing into my room. I was booked into this hotel for 5 nights - I lasted less than one. When I had had enough of the noise from adjoining rooms and passive smoking - I packed my bags and checked out. They still charged me for one night however at that point I didn't care. Due to the lack of language skills among the staff I was not even able to articulate the issue and why I was leaving. Overall - a disaster of...
Read moreFor Chinese standards, Dalian is a small city in the northeastern-most part of the country, a swim away for the west coast of Korea, and an hour’s flight from Beijing. Few Europeans or North Americans would know it, unless for a reason. And although the city is not the showcase of what the Chinese have achieved in the past few years, in terms of infrastructure, urban planning, organization, cleanliness and quality of life (parks, amenities, etc.) Dalian has little to envy others for. The Bayshore is the typical 5* business hotel one would find in hundreds these days throughout Asia. In comparison, though, its prices are quite reasonable and the level of service is excellent, once you contend yourself that “what can I do for you” is as far as you can go with English… Once there, don’t miss to visit Xinghai Square, the largest in Asia and dine at the poshy residential areas on the hillside, just outside the...
Read moreTo be honest, I expected a lot for this hotel. Well too much expectation. 我想太多了!The room, when we first entered it was smelly like I don’t know…like an old room. Clean, yes. But the smell not so ok especially when we have a baby. The Electric plugs, OMG😱 PLEASE FIX IT !!! At first it was ok but then it stopped everywhere. We need to find which electric plug works so we can boil the water and charge our phones. And the last, the WIFI. Speechless on this one. I was thinking that I can do my work during stay at this hotel. But the connection sooooo poor !!!!!I had to use my personal hotspot from my phone to do my work using laptop. Well…I spoke to the receptionist but they said, well maybe because of a lot of people are using it. Well….it’s a big hotel, not a small apartment or even house. Anyways….next time I won’t take much higher expectations...
