This had to be one of the worst hotel stay experiences with my 257 contributed reviews with Tripadvisor. ||I booked directly through the "Hilton Honors" loyalty program. ||On my reservation for two rooms, we stipulated NON-SMOKING rooms on the NON-SMOKING floor. ||When we arrived, both rooms were supposedly on NON-Smoking floors (15th and 16th floor) . To our biggest shock, as soon as we walked in, both rooms were SATURATED with cigarette smoke. The smell was so bad that it almost caused an asthma attack for me. ||Our rooms weren't ready when we arrived so we came back to get our key card at the evening. We immediately called the Front Desk to ask why our rooms were Saturated with heavy cigarette smoke, the Front Desk manager, Mr. Lee Li told me that those two floors are NON-SMOKING Floors but the hotel could not control the previous guests who stayed in the NON_SMOKING room but smokes inside. He then pass the ball to me 'the guest" and says we are sorry but what can we do for you?!?!||Wow, you guys are the HILTON chain and you are incapable of doing anything about this and you need to ask a guest to solve your problem???????????||Throughout my conversations with various employees of the Hilton Garden Inn Guangzhou Tianhe hotel, they are all telling me the same message, we can not control our staying guests' who smoke in our NON-SMOKING room, and yes, the two rooms assigned to you were both on the NON-SMOKING floors. We end up asking for a roll-in air cleaner machine to put in our rooms and it really doesn't make a big difference. The attitude I got from this hotel's management is to brush me off and hotel management doesn't think it is an issue at all. ||||Another unprofessional and unacceptable thing that happened, was that the Hilton front office employees were trained poorly. they are very unfriendly, impolite, and actually downright rude. We went down to the front desk to ask about how come there was nothing in the fridge in our room for us to buy something to eat. The attitude we got from this young lady was really insulting. She rolled her eyes and said if you need to buy something, guests need to come down to the lobby to buy it here. Instead of explaining to us in a friendly and professional manner, she blatantly showed her arrogant and rude manner if an idiot would ask something like this!!!!!!!!||||First of all, please look at our review record, we are both world travelers. We are a member of the Marriot-Bonvoy and World of Hyatt loyalty program. ||We are regular guests of both the Marriot chain and the Hyatt chain. We don't think we are idiots in hotel culture. ||||The more serious issue here is that Hilton Garden Inn pretended to have smoke-free rooms but in actual fact the hotel management can not guarantee smoke-free rooms. What if someone, a guest has a life-threatening allergic reaction to cigarette smoke ????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We are talking about life or death situation here. ||||The only thing that this Hilton Garden Inn has it going for them is the breakfast dining room servers. They were all very friendly and helpful. Breakfast items were good tasting and fresh. ||||We certainly hope Hilton management seriously look into how to correct this situation or just posts a message on your hotel website to say WE ONLY have Smoke-filled rooms so if you want smoke-free rooms, please go somewhere else. ||||Hilton regional management should take note that if this situation continues, your Hilton image will definitely be tannish by the management of this Hilton Garden Inn Guangzhou...

The hotel is newly refurbished and rebrand to Hilton Garden Inn. I love the design; a strong flavor of local Guangzhou with a blend of South Asia Element in it. Pay attention to the tiles and wood partition. The restaurant situated next to the lobby is very well decorated. The front desk are very well trained. They recognized me as the HHonors Gold and provide me a free upgrade from a twin beds to king bed. Also explained to me in details about the hotel amenities. There have a gym at the ground floor and a self help laundry at 8 floor (25 yuan for wash and another 25 yuan for dry) perfectly good for people whom having a long business trip. About the room, when I walked in, I was surprised by decoration and the chair; is a Herman Miller chair, very comfortable, Lovin it. The shower is good and the room comes with a big TV! I have a room that facing the hill so it is not noisy at all. Very quiet and I had a quality sleep. I stayed for three days and all I have to say is, giving the low room rate price tag, the hotel definitely outshine any of the 4 and 5 stars hotels...
