I arrived in Guangzhou without booking a hotel in advance. A friend recommended this hotel, as it was near her home. There's a KFC and a McD's right next to it, and it's a short walk to the Yantang Line 3 metro stop. There are different styles of rooms, with the least expensive being a Japanese style (futon on raised platform) with no window. I took a standard room with a window. Booking through Ctrip was 203 a night, about 60 below the posted rack rate. The bathroom had a mildewy smell, but was otherwise clean. WiFi was fine, though my Windows 7 laptop refused to connect. I used another free WiFi service instead. The staff is pleasant, but their English is limited. There was one small desk for the TV screen, and a nightstand, so workspace was at a premium. The room was actually spacious enough that a small cafe style table and chairs could fit by the window, making it a bit more useful. No complaints, really, but I think the price was higher than similar business hotels like 168 would charge for the same amenities. On the other hand, I liked the convenience of being close to the Metro and McD's, where I...
Read moreBooked the room without window through agoda. The first night was horrible as the room does not have proper ventilation hence it was humid and warm. We complained the day after and they make up top up 120rmb to upgrade to a room with window. However, the room was really smokey as the chinese smokes a lot. Smoke came in through the ventilation pipe and frm the corridor. We have to change our room again the next day. My mum fell sick due to the smoke n poor ventilation. The last room was also epic with a light bulb in the bathroom which doesnt work. Called the front desk and a lady came and check at 9.50pm. The lady looked pissed and angry making us wonder if we are really staying in a hotel. She left and said she will get someone to come and repair. In the end, no one came. They have conveniently forgotten. Do stay in this hotel at your own risk of health as pp in this hotel smoke everywhere and no one is there to enforce no smoking. It's a hotel suitable for the chinese local tourist. Only good thing about the hotel area is its close proximity to the airport and some good places to eat just a...
Read moreI had Guangzhou trip with my brother. We went for a business. This is our first time in China. The hotel gave us a really impressive memory. The receptionist is nice and helpful. The cleaning aunties are also very nice. They came to clean the room every day. (The room has signs for cleaning, different kind of lights and also curtain controlling buttons). We really like the area, it’s very close to the metro and also has the bus stop in the front as well as very easy to take Didi. You can also easily to get food around the area. There are many kinds of food around the hotel. However, the breakfast is Chinese styles, it’s my a little bit hard for the foreigners to eat and when something gone, they didn’t add more for examples chicken and nuggets but for Chinese food, it might be added. Anyway, overall is very impressive and we’ll go back to this hotel again (maybe no need breakfast 😂) Btw, the room is very cozy with a nice window view. The bed are good, we had a...
