Disappointing Stay at Yueda Financial City International HotelThe Yueda Financial City International Hotel unfortunately falls short of expectations, particularly for foreign travellers. Despite a few positive points, the overall experience left much to be desired.Pros:Cleanliness: Despite its outdated décor, the hotel is clean and appears well-maintained.Breakfast Variety: The breakfast offered a reasonable selection, which might be acceptable for international guests (though notably lacking cheese, which seems to be standard in many Chinese hotels).Cons:Location: The hotel is far from Guangzhou’s city centre, making it inconvenient for anyone hoping to explore the city. It’s also not easily accessible via metro, and the tangled network of nearby roads and highways makes getting a taxi from the metro station a frustrating experience. To add to this, the hotel’s entrance is tucked away at the rear, obscured from the main road, which makes finding it even more challenging.Décor and Room Design: The outdated, overly traditional décor feels better suited to older guests with specific tastes. More concerning, however, is the bizarre room configuration. The bed is positioned near a window to the bathroom, leaving no privacy whatsoever. This setup is especially inappropriate for guests travelling with colleagues or acquaintances.Elevators: The elevator system here is just a joke. Long waits and overcrowding are standard, adding unnecessary frustration to daily routines.Air Conditioning: The air conditioning was a significant problem during our stay. The room’s air smelled of soil, and despite reporting it three times and having engineers inspect the system, the temperature never dropped below 24°C. Coupled with a room without windows, the lack of proper cooling made the stay uncomfortable.Breakfast Chaos: The breakfast area was overcrowded and noisy during our stay. Long queues, chaotic conditions, and the lack of sufficient seating made the experience unpleasant. The single coffee machine frequently broke down, displaying Chinese error messages, and required multiple attempts to get a cup of coffee.Amenities: For a supposed five-star hotel, the amenities were subpar. Only one tissue box and half a roll of toilet paper were provided, along with a half-used bottle of shampoo. Solid soap bars were provided instead of liquid soap, adding to the outdated feel of the hotel. Conclusion:This hotel does not live up to the standards of a five-star property. The poor location, impractical room design, malfunctioning air conditioning, and chaotic service made for a disappointing stay. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, especially foreigners looking for convenience and comfort...
Read moreThis hotel is 45 minutes’ drive from the Guangzhou International airport without any traffic jam. It is located in the Tian He District and 2 to 3 Km away from Guangzhou International Convention & Exhibition Centre and Pazhou International Exhibition Centre. However, travel by car takes 30 minutes to 40 minutes from the hotel to these Exhibition Centres in the morning due to morning peak hour traffic. Hotel does provide free shuttle bus to the Exhibition centre in the morning and return to the hotel in the evening. It is a few minutes’ walk to Keyun Lu station. It is an old hotel but renovated. Hotel entrance for car is small but parking is free for hotel guests. My check-in was slow as the front desk staff did not serve based on first come first serve. They served who approached them directly. Perhaps, this is their culture. Hotel’s main guests were local. I hardly saw any western guests in this hotel. My room at 10th floor was clean and spacious. Bed was comfortable. Its room air-con temperate could be set higher than 25 degree C but the room temp was always not higher than 24 degree C. Basic toiletries were provided free in the room daily. It has free WIFI in the lobby and in the room for hotel guests. WiFI speed is excellent. It does not have a swimming pool nor fitness centre in the main building. The restaurant at 6th floor served a good variety of breakfast....
Read moreI stayed at this hotel during the Canton Fair in April. I had a wonderful experience. The staff is polite and was able to check us in early at around 10am. The rooms are beautiful and clean, the bathrooms are very clean as well. There is a restaurant that serves complimentary breakfast in the morning. The same restaurant also has dinner service. There is also a large room service menu with a good variety. The food tasted great. We stayed there two separate times over a week period and we were able to leave some of our luggage with the concierge while we went to Hong Kong for the weekend. The hotel is very close to the Keyun Lu station on line 5 of the metro, just a few minutes walk to the station. If you're there for the Canton Fair, the hotel also provides buses that leave every 15 minutes or so, from about 8:30-9:30am. But if you miss that you can take the metro: go to Keyun Lu station, take line 5 one stop to Chebei South, take line 4 one stop to Wanshengwei, take line 8 one stop to Pazhou, and you're there. ||Really a great hotel for a great price. The only thing I didn't like is that the "air conditioning" isn't really air conditioning, it's still very humid inside the hotel and all rooms. Other than that, a very good experience. I highly...
