Sofitel Haikou — Hotel in Haikou City

As Accor platinum member for close to 10 years, and fairly loyal to stays at Sofitel, the way this hotel handles people showing up at 5am after a stressful evening event (being hit in a car accident) left me a pretty bad impression of the staffing here. ||||Context: On the Hotel Group's Accor App, you are unable to book for the previous night if it the time passes midnight. I needed a room for a few hours after being hit in a car accident and showed up around 5-530am. I explained I needed a room, but wanted to book through the app which was showing a nightly rate of sightly under 500 RMB. ||||The conversation goes something like...||Me: Explains situation, can I book for the next night and use for a few hours?||Wennie: No, you need a day rate.||Me: Ok, how much?||Wennie: 400 rmb extra for the day rate, and you check out the next day.||Me: Oh I only need a few hours, not a night and the day rate:||Wennie: oh ok, here's the day rate. (handing me the paper of showing 900 RMB for a few hours with no benefits)||Me: But my app shows an entire night stay for 500,||Wennie: this our rate, sorry. ||||What the hell? You want me to pay double for a few hours, versus a typical night rate, and won't let me book through the Accor app?||||I went next door to the Hilton instead which dealt with me in a much compassionate and understanding manner. ||||Really unbelievable for a hotel of...

Amazing Stay at Sofitel Haikou – Exceptional Service & Perfect Location!

Our stay at Sofitel Haikou was truly fantastic, and a big shoutout to Howard—he was an absolute lifesaver! From day one, he took great care of our family, helping us find the best restaurants and even calling to make reservations for us. This was our first time in China, and since we don’t speak Chinese, getting a taxi or ordering food was quite challenging. Howard made everything so much easier for us!

The room was incredible—spotlessly clean, with super comfortable bedding and even a TV built into the bathroom mirror! We stayed on the 28th floor, and the view from our room was absolutely breathtaking.

Breakfast was fantastic! If you’re new to Chinese cuisine, this is the perfect place to start. The variety was amazing—delicious dim sum, noodle soup, Chinese-style fried eggs (a must-try!), flavorful Chinese soups, and so much more.

The location is excellent. Situated in the CBD, you can easily walk to several shopping malls and cafés. Just step out of the hotel lobby, and within 200 meters, you’ll find great spots like the Chinese tea café CHANGEE.
