Overall, we had an excellent stay at The Langham in Haikou. My partner and I stayed for 5 nights total. All of the food at their restaurants were excellent, and the staff was very kind, welcoming, and helpful. ||The location of the hotel is great if you want to explore the city. Right across the street from the hotel, there is a large park that is nice to walk through. There is also a lot of shopping within walking distance of the hotel. The Mixc mall is less than a 5 min walk from the hotel, and includes many restaurants, a grocery store which is convenient, and high-end luxury fashion stores such as Louis Vuitton, Gucci, etc.||The rooms were clean and the amenities at the hotel were nice. We stayed in the Deluxe king ocean view room, which gave us a great view of the city and water. Our room did not have a patio, but there are some rooms that do. ||We utilized their English afternoon tea time and ordered 2 different teas with a wide array of tea cakes and snacks. They also offer a large buffet for both breakfast and dinner. We also ate traditional Hainanese and Catonese cusine at Tang court, which was delicious. Other amenities include a spa, a steam room, and a sauna room (note: the steam room and sauna room are gendered so men and women cannot use them together). The infinity pool overlooking the city is also sweet. There is not a hot tub, but the weather is hot so you don’t really need one. My partner and I also got a couples massage in their spa, which was very nice and relaxing. ||Lastly, a very special thank you to the staff at the hotel. My partner and I are American and do not speak Chinese. Though not everyone at the hotel speaks English (which is understandable), there are many staff that do and are very kind and willing to help you with anything you need. Shout out to Adam, Daniel, and Julie, who were very kind, welcoming, and friendly to us throughout our stay. ||We hope to visit Haikou again soon, and would stay here again in a...
Read moreThis is our second stay at the hotel. Rooms are decorated with lots (and lots) of marble. Feels very luxurious. The floor plan was a bit cramped -- our room had an island cabinet in what we thought was an awkward place. ||Room floors are a combination of carpet and marble. The carpet in our room could use a good wet vac since there were some old stains on it. This is still one of the cleanest hotels in the area. The cleaning staff was enthusiastic and overall wonderful. ||Haikou now has many upscale hotels now but most locations aren't as central as this property. The property is located across a mall with easy access to shopping and food and in "Guomao" area. Service was overall fast, efficient, and left us with a good impression.||Some of the hotel guests smoked in the elevators. I'm not sure if the hotel has any control over this, but our experience would've been better if guests were more mindful. ||Food - I would recommend guests eat across the street at the mall. With the exception of the breakfast buffet, the food at this hotel is generally overpriced. Tang court upstairs is definitely not the Tang Court you would find in Hong Kong. Service is great, however, lowered expectations would make for a great...
Read moreThe Langham hotel is a great hotel to stay in terms of value, location and service. Rooms are clean and classy. The reception is located on level 43 and deposit per room is CNY1,000. We had some issues with checking in as "Booking.com" didn't inform the correct room type to the hotel and we were not given the 2 x double bed which we had paid for. Hence the Langham hotel staff (Lily) was very helpful and provided us with 1 King bed and a fold away bed.|The hotel's buffet breakfast is really good value with the selection of fresh juice, coffee, tea, Asian and Western food. Breakfast is CNY100 for adult if you inform the reception a day before else it's CNY198 on the day. Cost for child is around CNY96.|There are many local shopping and food within walking distance (under 10 mins walk) near the hotel. We will definitely return to this hotel if we...
