We went for the LookVin event. however, it was too roudy, too chaotic, and the attendees really went for it. so we decided to sit comfortably for the buffet lunch. Being Marriott my expectations were high but went disappointed. Not even a slice of bread, no basic salad dressings at salad corner. a bottle claiming full of olive oil was filled with some low quality vegetable oil, not even balsamic vinegar. the meat offerings were extremely limited and very scarce. the beef was cut in tiny pieces almost transparent. the grilled chicken was all bones, the grilled salmon was all the offers and skin of the salmon, the sushi appeared to have had better days and the dessert corner was not replenished even though cakes and sweets were cut in tiny pieces. I understand the price of 188rmb means the Marriott must contain the costs. but Marriott should not compromise on quality. I don't mind to pay three times higher but I don't like to have my expectations disappointed. and in the end, I asked for an espresso and the quality of it matched perfectly my disappointment. Marriott is synonym with certain hospitality standards, which shall not be compromised. Even the detail of no bread for buffet lunch? even though I was ready to pay extra full price for a loaf. the answer was bread is finished. but then I ordered a sandwich and a burger for my friends who were selling wine at the event and the bread for that order was in stock. we toured by ourselves the fitness and SPA facilities and the staff in attendance didn't even bother to provide help or greet us. The view is great and the breakfast was also great - lots of options for pretty much everyone - that's for the 1 star.|the experience was really bad this time. may be I chosen the wrong type of rooms. The rooms I had were riverside view with double bed. |- one of the room had a smell - not sure it was Cigarette smell or something else, just not a clean smell. called the frond desk and someone checked out, they agreed to get us a new room, but was really late when they got the new room ready. so we didn't move|- The shower room is strange, the water could easily get to the bath tub area when you take a shower and the floor will be wet everywhere. there is no place to hang tower|- The toilet cubic(can't call it a room since it's so tiny) is even strange and dangerous. There is a squared metal used as a handle and if you are not careful and lean forward, your head could hit the metal. my wife's head was blooding due to that. called the manager complained about it but he managed to say nobody else complained about it - sounds like there was no problem with...
