I had an amazing stay at the RC Harbin and it's definitely worthy of the Ritz Carlton name.
I booked a premier river view room and I was given a larger corner room, which I appreciated. It's worth nothing these rooms don't necessarily have a view of the Harbin Ice & Snow world (my room was facing north). I was offered a paid upgrade to a room with the Ice & Snow world room but I declined.
The room is super modern and comfortable. The bed is one of the most comfortable I've ever had in a hotel, I slept as well as I did at home. The pillows and mattress were perfect. The bathroom was very fancy and I really appreciate having a bidet.
The location of the hotel is fine, with the caveat that you'll need to be calling Didi to get anywhere relevant, there's no public transportation nearby. But it's a fairly short ride to Harbin's main attractions, so it's still very convenient.
Service is generally good, but there's some inconsistency. For example I asked for some food to be stored in the hotel fridge one night and a staff member told me they could help me heat it up the next day. But the next morning I was told this is against policy (fair enough). Also, some doormen would proactively open the car door for you (fairly expected in this tier of hotel). But others just stood around. I think the hotel needs to work on this a bit. The front desk staff when we checked in and out were all great though.
Overall though it was a great stay and if I came back to Harbin I'd definitely choose this...
Read moreAs a Marriott Bonvoy member I’ve stayed in their other hotels before - St. Regis, W Hotel etc. I must say Ritz Carlton Harbin went above and beyond to make our Christmas stay fabulous. From checking in to the hotel, Sophia Director of Front House assisted me in securing the room I wanted and ensured our stay was comfortable. We had a turkey Christmas dinner there as well in The Manor, and the ambiance was very festive and food was pretty good too. The daily breakfast had a fantastic assortment of selection international and some local favorites. Our room was cleaned superbly every night with a bowl of selection of fresh fruits. Lastly, Alvin who worked in the front was very helpful and informed me of what there is to do around Harbin, and other seasons of the year. Also the chefs at the buffet was amazing, they assisted in every way possible to make sure my food was to my standards, and even delivered it to my table even though it was a buffet. The pastry chef went above and beyond to get my fresh pastries from The back during the Christmas dinner buffet. The staff at Ritz Carlton Harbin deserves all the praise. One of my favorite hotels from the Marriott collection for sure! On par with St. Regis in Japan.
I will be back again♥️ looking forward to my next stays. I hope the other hotels under Marriott can learn from the staff here, especially W Hotel in Atlanta.

Read moreI experienced a delay in check-in, with our check-in time postponed from the standard 2 pm to approximately 3 pm due to room cleaning delays. While I appreciate the front desk team's assistance, such issues are unexpected at a Ritz property. Additionally, I encountered some concerns regarding room hygiene; specifically, there was an unpleasant odour in the bathroom. On a positive note, the breakfast offerings were satisfactory, although the restaurant was somewhat crowded during our visit. The hotel is near a well-known local river, providing beautiful views from the rooms. However, I found the location lacking in accessibility to various attractions. There was no nearby subway station, which made travelling to my planned destinations more challenging. Consequently, relying on taxis became necessary, but I noted that traffic in Harbin was...
